Why I Love Target Practice Ruleset And My Favorite Strategy | Splinterlands Social Media Challenge

in #hive-133233 months ago

Hello everyone, Welcome to my Splinterlands Social Media Challenge post. In this post, I'll be talking about the Target Practice Ruleset, the Snipe Ability, and one of my favorite strategies in the Target Practice Ruleset, and more, as well as an amazing battle. I hope it will be useful for you.

Target Practice Ruleset & Snipe Ability

In battles with the Target Practice Ruleset, all Ranged and Magic attack Monsters gain the Snipe Ability. Ranged and Magic Attack Monsters with Snipe Ability target the first enemy Monster with Ranged Attack, Magic Attack, or no attack that is not in the first position.

Target Practice ruleset is one of my favorite rulesets because I have so many strategies in this ruleset and almost all of them work very well and help me win most of my battles. I will talk about one of them in the battle below.

I can say that Martyr is the ability I use the most in the Target Practice ruleset, in fact I do not hesitate to add as many Martyr Ability to my lineup as I can when I have the opportunity, because I can say that it is very useful when used with a good strategy. When a Monster with the Martyr Ability dies, adjacent Monsters get +1 to all stats. In battles with the Target Practice ruleset, not only me but also many players include the Martyr Ability in their lineup, but those who have a better strategy win the battle. And below I will talk about a battle that I believe could be a good example for the Target Practice ruleset, let's examine it

Battle Ruleset

  • Target Practice: All Ranged and Magic attack Monsters have the Snipe ability.

Snipe Ability : Targets the first enemy Unit with Ranged, Magic, or no attack that is not in the first position with Ranged or Magic attacks.

My Strategy

According to the ruleset of the battle, all Monsters in this battle will have the Snipe Ability. Therefore, Ranged and Magic Attack Monsters will target the first enemy Monster with Ranged Attack, Magic Attack, or no attack that is not in the first position.

First of all, I chose Franz Ruffmane as the Summoner because I wanted to use a Gladiator card and give all monsters on my team +1 armor. Franz Ruffmane is a Life Summoner that allows the use of one additional Gladiator card in battle and gives all friendly monsters +1 armor.

In the first position, I put Uriel the Purifier, who has the Flying Ability, the Recharge Ability, and the Heal Ability. Uriel the Purifier is a really powerful Monster and it is very difficult to destroy it with melee attacks, so I put it in the first position.

In the second position, I put Venari Marksrat, who has Martyr Ability and Snare Ability. When Venari Marksrat dies, Uriel the Purifier and Captain Katie will get +1 to all stats.

In the third position I put Captain Katie who has the Bloodlust Ability and the Snipe Ability. Captain Katie is a gladiator who can be very effective in battles, and if my strategy works the way I want, Captain Katie will get +1 to all stats three times just thanks to the Martyr Ability.

In the fourth position, I put Iziar, who has Taunt Ability, Void Ability, and Martyr Ability. I will also include Triage Ability and Resurrect Ability in my lineup. It will not be easy to destroy Iziar and the enemies will have to destroy it twice. Additionally, when Iziar dies, Djinn Renova and Captain Katie will get +1 to all their stats, and if my strategy works the way I want it to, this will trigger twice.

In the fifth position, I put Djinn Renova who has Strengthen Ability and Triage Ability. In such battles, that is, if enemies are targeting the backline, the Triage Ability is really useful because Triage Ability heals the friendly back-line Unit that has taken the most damage by a third of max health.

And in the last position I put Adelade Brightwing who has Flying Ability, Repair Ability and Resurrect Ability. Adelade Brightwing is a Monster that can be very effective in battles with its abilities and is one of my favorite cards. Especially when I include Taunt Ability in my lineup, I always add Adelade Brightwing to my team.

This is a strategy that is very useful in this type of battle, and even in many battles, and I think it is not easy to defeat this strategy, but there is no strategy that cannot be defeated. Monsters with Blast Ability can ruin this strategy, especially Monsters with Scattershot Ability and Blast Ability can be a real pain in the neck for this strategy therefore, I would never want the opposing team to have these abilities. In short, cards like Chaos Dragon with Blast Ability and Scattershot Ability can ruin this strategy.

BATTLE COMMENTS

Round 1

The opposing player's strategy is also pretty good and I wasn't surprised to see Martyr Ability on the opposing team because a lot of players use it that way. But it's especially smart to use the level 8 Gobson Bomber card this way. Also, the opposing team has Time Meddler with Return Fire Ability in the third position. Considering that all Monsters on the opposing team have the Amplify Ability, if I had used Ranged Attack Monsters in this battle, it would have been very difficult for my team to win this battle and I would have probably even lost this battle, but fortunately I chose Magic Attack Monsters.

In the first round, the Monsters on the opposing team attacked Iziar, but they did not have enough power to deal serious damage to it. My team's Monsters destroyed Venari Marksrat, but that also meant Time Meddler and Gobson Bomber got +1 to all their stats.

Round 2

Gobson Bomber now had 4 Ranged Attacks and dealt 12 damage to Iziar in one hit, making it easier to destroy Iziar in the second round, but was brought back to life with 1 health thanks to the Resurrect Ability. Frankly, this wasn't a big deal since destroying Iziar was part of my strategy. Additionally, in the second round, the opposing team's Venari Marksrat was destroyed for the second time.

Round 3

In the third round, no Monsters were destroyed, but the Time Meddler on the opposing team took serious damage and only had 4 health left. The fact that the opposing team did not have the Triage Ability left the enemies in a difficult situation.

Round 4

It was impossible to resist the Gibson Bomber's brutal attacks because it dealt 15 damage in one hit. And at the beginning of the fourth round he destroyed Iziar with one hit. Also the Time Meddler was destroyed.

Round 5

Captain Katie now has 10 magic attack, 7 armor, and 13 health so it's now much harder to deal with. In the fifth round, Captain Katie destroyed Adelade Brightwing on the opposing team, and got +1 to all stats once again.

Round 6

At the beginning of the sixth round, Captain Katie also destroyed War Pegasus. Although Gobson Bomber's attacks were quite scary, they were not power enough to destroy Captain Katie. And Uriel the Purifier from the opposing team was also destroyed, which means my team won the battle, because Gobson Bomber cannot attack while in the first position.

Round 7

And in the seventh round, the Gibson Bomber was also destroyed.

The battle lasted 7 rounds and at the end of the battle, all the monsters on the opposing team were destroyed while 4 Monsters on my team survived. Only 2 Monsters from my team could be destroyed, but their destruction was already part of my strategy. By the way, it was really smart for the opposing player to use the Gibson Bomber in this way and I will consider adding the Gibson Bomber to my team in such battles.

Brief explanations of the abilities I mentioned above;

  • Snipe Ability : Targets the first enemy Unit with Ranged, Magic, or no attack that is not in the first position with Ranged or Magic attacks.
  • Martyr Ability : When this Unit dies, adjacent Units get +1 to all stats.
  • Recharge Ability : This Unit attacks every other round but does 3x damage.
  • Heal Ability : Restores a third of max health to this Unit's health each round.
  • Bloodlust Ability : This Unit revels in the glory of combat and becomes more dangerous as the battle goes on. Every time it defeats an opponent, it gets +1 to all stats.
  • Triage Ability : Heals the friendly back-line Unit that has taken the most damage by a third of max health.
  • Resurrect Ability : When a friendly Unit dies it is brought back to life with 1 Health. This ability can only trigger once per battle.
  • Void Ability : Reduced damage from Magic attacks by 50%.
  • Taunt Ability : All enemy Units target this Unit (if they are able to).
  • Return Fire Ability Ability :
  • Amplify Ability : Increases Magic Reflect, Return Fire, Thorns, Corrosive Ward, and Retaliate damage to all enemy units by 1.

If you have any questions about abilities, rulesets, the battle above, and Splinterlands, please feel free to ask and I'll be happy to answer them.

I'm also the one who will use Martyr when I'm in that ruleset.

👍 It definitely works very well.

I forgot to include the brief description of the Return Fire Ability in the post, I'm sorry.

  • Return Fire Ability : When hit with a Ranged attack, Units with Return Fire will return half the damage (rounded up) back to their attacker.
