Dependents - Being one or making one

in #hive-1230463 years ago

Are you someone who depends a lot, for your needs and wants, on someone else?

OR

Are you someone who does everything on their own, and even others' work too, and make people dependent upon them?

Whatever category you fall in, you are making a big-time mistake. Hear me out how.

John Doe is a lazy person and doesn't care much about his personal or professional work. He is supported for all his work mostly by his mother. The mother does everything out of love and concern. Things had been working all fine for him until one day when his mother dies of a heart attack. All his work got stuck. He was not able to figure out stuff for himself, he didn't know what to eat, where to find his belt and socks from, how to run the washing machine, or at the least, where to get purified water from. Now that he had to do everything on his own, and he was not used to any of it, he had to face a lot of trouble due to which his work also suffered badly.

In another story, a wife who was bold and independent took a lot of responsibility for her work and household. She made sure her work was never compromised and her house was always neat and tidy, her clothes were properly ironed and the kitchen was well set. Anything in the house that broke or got damaged was her responsibility, she managed to get it working properly in no time. With time, she had a baby and now she had more responsibilities. Her job role also grew more demanding. So she could not pay so much attention to her household chores. But because she made sure she did everything and never asked her husband for help, he could not help her as per her expectations. He would do things at his own pace and sometimes that pace badly impacted the house and the people. More so, the husband started to get irritated because now he had to do more compared to how things were before the baby. This impacted their personal relationship a lot.

Both the scenarios above prove that being dependent and letting someone depend on you are bad and can have severe consequences.

It is very important that we maintain a balance in our lives and don't over or under commit anything to anyone. If we are doing so, we are actually digging a grave for ourselves and will fall in it sooner or later.

Do what you should, not what you can!

Dear @sugandhaseth, we need your help!

The Hivebuzz proposal already got important support from the community. However, it lost its funding a few days ago and only needs a few more HP to get funded again.

May we ask you to support it so our team can continue its work this year?
You can do it on Peakd, ecency, Hive.blog or using HiveSigner.

Your support would be really helpful and you could make a difference.
Thank you!

👏 Dependence on another person is never good, or almost never good.
because people can fail, disappoint or betray us, the best thing is not to be attached to anything or anyone.

Correct. We must always have control of our things in our hands.
