I'm indeed grateful to God for the blessings of few talents , it surprises me how I develop interest in something and once i give it a try I noticed I'm good at it. One fateful day my mum called me and asked me to stitch some of her clothes for her using a needle which I did on seeing it she was shocked and surprised how neatly every pieces of those clothes was stitched even though i used a needle but it looks as if I used a sewing machine to stitch it mom advised me to learn how to sew and become a fashion designer...i refuse because I never had any interest in becoming a fashion designer.
Apart from cooking, little baking, I do altar decorations, drama, making of baby's hairs, dancing, knitting, little singing and little make-up. In all of this I noticed my hobby are mostly cooking, drama, little baking and decorations.
I grew up in a local northern area, I noticed we do call altar decorators to come decorate our church altar then pay them after they re done. we were lacking in finance yet we kept doing it the worse part of it is that no body in our church knows how to decorate so it became a thing of concern to me I decided to give it a try (imagine doing something you never learned or did before) but I made up my mind to do it, so we contributed some money go to the market with some of the samples and finally we bought everything we needed so I started to decorate my church altar...my goodness it was so tedious and my arms were aching me while trying to fix the pin I mistakenly fall down to the floor from the stool I ended up the whole day decorating I was happy I make something out of it though not really nice but I decided to give it another shot which turn out well and nice I noticed many were happy so I continued on different occasions especially when there is a ceremony in church like weddings, child dedications, and in schools I was called to decorate by people and i do them free of charge without collecting a dime for it unless money for the materials and transportation.
Decoration is stressful and time consuming but the joy and happiness I feel after seeing my work keep me going... I still plan on learning more about decorations at least to make more money with it in future hahaha!
The only hobby of mine that I made some money out of it was chin-chin (snacks) moi-moi (beans pudding) and carving of eyebrows with little make-up I was using myself to practice on how to carve an eyebrow and for make-ups. I did made mistakes while using my eyebrow for practice I mistakenly shave everything off lolz...but I never gave up I kept trying and I became perfect in carving of eyebrows through that thesame mistake .
the snacks, make-up and carving of eyebrows was when I was still Schooling in polytechnic and luckily for me the students love it mostly they come to me during weekends to carve their eyebrows for ceremonies, birthdays and Sunday service while I do my selling of snacks in classes.
The beans pudding business was in 200level in the university it gladdens my heart how many love it while some requested for the recipe on how I made mine, too bad I will have continued but hubby stopped me from doing it.
The little talent of mine turned hobby contributed alot in my finance while I'm still at school, with it I was able to take care of my needs and to form a good relationship with people, apart from making me happy...with this hobby of mine it enable me to have a clear perspective on what I want to do in future.
All the pictures are my works.
I appreciate your time as always bye.🥰
