Here is a short story about my friend victor Adesola.

When we were younger, most adults at the time, both our teachers and is usually " when i grow up i want to become an engineer", electrical engineer to be precise.

Even though i had no idea of what that entails, which i am pretty sure whatever answers
we all gave non of us knew what the profession we choose is all about. so why did i pick electrical
engineering you might ask, i did because as the first child of three children of my family

i wasn't allowed to play with much toy, so i found myself building sugar and drugs paper box
Racing cars with broom stick and relatively circularly carved shape from bathroom sleepers and spare parts from a radio
at a very tender age, while by the side repairing few burn extension boxes and lamps. looking back now i
realized it wasn't engineering i was passionate about it was something else but as a kid back then i
couldn't put my hands on it, but i was on the path.
Flash forward to junior highschool, my answer to that question hasn't yet changed, but i found
art classes interesting than the science classes, one of my favorite was paper craft class. i wouldn't
call it origami but it was something closed to it, when i was given class work to paint a orange
i taught the image was flat and lifeless so i added a touch of yellow to make it "cooler". At the time i
was lucky to have a portrait artist as a neighbour, he was friendly he often call me to pose for him as
a reference for his works. Today i can still remember what the experience felt like, my heart flutters every time
i helped him and every time i was given art or craft homework as oppose rolling my eyes to maths.
After junior highschool i was shipped to a boarding school, it wasn't a fun time for me so i gravitated
towards escapism, which is art at the time sketched random images on my notebook allot and exchange a couple
of biology drawing assignment for snacks.
After graduating from highschool my answer to that cliche question changed complete to "i want to become
an artist". because i had realized that it wasn't engineering i was passionate about, i was passionate
about creating something from nothing. then i thought, i should try share with others too maybe it might
comfort someone like it did me. since then i have been developing my visual storytelling skills also which includes colour
harmony and its psychology,

what ever it was that i did with that green orange painting in my drawing
book was great but is was only a tip of an iceberg of what is possible with extensive knowledge of colours
and that's why i found surrealism art style interesting.
if Like photographers I Know always say "a single image can say a thousand words", i think a painting can say a billiion.
