There is an Arabic saying that goes:
“Whoever plants dates does not harvest dates!”
That's because a date palm takes about 80 to 100 years to bear the first fruits and whoever plants them will possibly not reap their fruits.
Plant for others, plant for a better world, for your children and for your children's children. Every action is a way to sow something and having that thought meditate on each action is a smart measure that can make a difference not only in our lives but also in the lives of many people we love.
Sometimes we plant a rose in the garden, water it and take care of it so that it can beautify this place, but if you are not careful it can hurt you. And this is a way of respecting the nature of things and it's not because we plant that we should take possession of it, thinking openly about it can make us less frustrated with any event outside our expectations.
But on the other hand, we are most responsible for the actions and the type of seed we choose to put in the earth. If I had chosen an apple over a rose, perhaps I would never have pricked myself on a thorn, but although I delight in eating apples, I would not enjoy such a beautiful sight that a rose can give me.
There are all kinds of seeds and this is a choice in our lives. As we must have heard many times around: Every action causes a reaction. Choosing how to act in many situations or being wise when making a decision will interfere with our lives, and planting the right seed at all times is a big challenge. For many times I made wrong choices and so did you, it's impossible to go through life without doing that. But the difference is what you did after that. Did you absorb the opportunities to get experienced and make better decisions, or did you just curl up in a corner to cry?
I would like you to be a good farmer for your life, plant good things and you will know what you will reap, and don't forget to plant dates because if you eat them today someone planted them for you to enjoy.
