Almond Joy Edibles
Hola good peoples.. been a minute since I made some chocolate edibles. So this past Thursday I wanted to try something a bit different.
I recently made an almond joy cheesecake for someone.. and that got my brain goin..

I got the whole house to myself, so I figured why not go off the rails for bit..
The Recipe:
7 grams of Larry Lovenstein @ 28.53%
250 grams 60% chocolate chips
1/4 cup shredded coconut
Almond extract
Coconut extract
I start out with 230 grams of the Ghiraradeli and 20 grams of walmart semi-sweet to make for a nice spread in the mold.
Next up we grind up a 1/4 oz. of the Larry Lovenstein and get it in the oven to decarb.
Got a nice color after a 30 minute - 240F bake. Next up we prep the mold.
Next.. gotta get the chocolate in the double boiler, starting with about 70% of the total amount of chocolate.. after it starts to melt.. stir stir stir! Let it get to about 110F then pop it off the heat.
Add in the Larry and the shredded coconut to the melted chocolate. Stir that in real good. Next it's time to add flavoring.
I used 10 drops of coconut extract and 6 drops of almond extract.. you can adjust this to your tastes.
Keep stirring it, cooling to 95F.
Stir in the 30% remaining chocolate held back(a few chips at a time) to seed your chocolate.. to cool it down slowly to 79F all while constantly stirring. 😉
Once you got it to 79F then you want to bring the temp back up to 85-90F then take it off the heat.
No more than 90F tho! This way your chocolate is tempered.
Next I spread the chocolate out in the mold. I used the bigger mold this time to account for the coconut in the chocolate.
Once the mold is filled it's fridge time! Once you got em cooled.. you should see a nice shine on the chocolate.
Now for a word of caution..
If you're like me.. you ain't wasting the left over bits in the bowl. I try to remember my #1 rule of making my own edibles..
NEVER LICK THE BOWL AND EAT THE FINISHED PRODUCT! 😂
Well... I didn't remember my own rule(again) lolz.. and I wound up FUBAR!
I ate half a chocolate on top of the left over in the bowl. Bout 3 hours later.. starting getting a nice buzz.. cool! This ain't half bad.. then another hour goes by.. and here comes the boom with that half piece!
Needless to say I was on another level there for a few LMAO.

Time For Testing The Finished Product.
The way I got it figured is I got 20 pieces @ 100mg a piece.
I got the flavor right, along with the texture of the coconut.. you would never know that there was cannabis inside. I didn't use any almonds here.. just used the flavoring. You can chop up some almonds in a food processor and add that in too.. no problemo.
Day 1.. I started small with 1/4 of a chocolate. I figured I would get elevated nicely, 25 mg is a nice ride.😄
Day 2.. I went with 1/2 piece, this time no extras. Well that 50 mg hits nice.. 😵
There is no Day 3 testing lolz.
I am gonna stick with either 1/4 or a 1/2 piece.. depending upon the day I am having.
Here lately the day requires a whole piece but.. ain't no way I am gonna top out and eat a whole piece.. that's insane.
If you ever make these, you can use an 1/8th oz instead of a 1/4 oz like I did here if you want a lower dosage batch of chocolates. Tastes just like an Almond Joy!
