There is a lot of talk around the $WOO token in the last weeks, but I can rarely see anything about the game mechanics. I think that is what will bring value to the $WOO token. So I want to fill this gap with this series!
I did a research on all the blogposts shared, listened to AMAs and asked also Booker Man a few questions to give you as much information as possible.
Articles will be created on:
This is the 4th and land article : Promotions and Championship Titles.
How to play WOO
Your wrestling organization can have:
- Wrestlers
- Managers
- Land plots
Just like the real wrestling organizations you will manage your people and your stadium/s.
Let's look at how you can earn some profit to improve your organization:
- Try to win Shows with your Wrestler and Manager NFT cards
- Own Land, where Shows can be arranged. Earn dividends, when Shows are organized on your Land. Improve your Land to earn even more.
- Create Promotions (Guilds) and manage them. Promotions can create Championship Titles as well, which the winning organization earns! If in a Show the Champion Title is on stake, then the Promotion members receive dividends.
Now let's get to our todays topic...
What are Promotions
Bigger organizations have a bigger influence and can make bigger shows. This is the case with Wrestling Organizations as well. To get more people on shows they grouped together and created Promotions, so the audience could see wrestling stars from multiple organizations in one show. Huge audience, mega shows, expanded marketing outreach and the possibility to fight for Titles.
So to make it clear: Promotions works as guilds/clans in other games. You can create a group of wrestling organizations, which will have benefits being in the group.
There is currently no information about what these benefits will be at this point. As in other games there might be increased rewards from being in a Promotion. I got a hint that guild members can delegate their plots to the Promotion, and thus make travel costs to the Promotion plots cheaper for all members. And there could be gadgets only available in guild stores etc. As currently land and game mechanics are being worked on there are no more information available on Promotions.
Except one essential thing we all wait for:
Championship Titles
All those fancy gold belts held up by wrestlers is what we are out for! They bring us fame, rewards and publicity. These are the trophies provided by the Promotions.
Promotion leaders will be able to create Championship titles. These can be then fought for in special shows, where the title will be at stake.
So let's check out how this works:
- Champion title will be an NFT, which will be in the hands of the Promotion leaders who can:
- Create - Bring the title into existence
- Instate - Make it available to be fought for in a Show
- Reinstate - In case a title was won, but is not used anymore the Promotion leader can take it back and put up another show for it.
- Vacate - Put it up the shelf and watch it shine
All these action will burn $WOO.
The ownership transfers of the title will be handled by the blockchain.
These will be badges of honor, I hope the title shows will work as tournaments in the future, and only the best Wrestling Organization from a couple of contestants can receive it.
The titles can be put on line by the owner of the title as well and I hope they will bring bonuses to the holder.
They definitely bring bonuses the creators, as they will receive a cut from future fights were the title is on line. It might be possible that the promotion owner will receive this cut, or that it will be shared within the promotion members. Let's see how this will work.
Unfortunately that is all I could dig up on promotions. I hope you liked it anyway. ;)
That was all for today. I hope you liked this overview and if you are missing any content, then feel free to ask, or jump into the WOO discord channel
I'm currently doing an overview of the game mechanics and have a post about the shows and the wrestlers. If you are interested, then check out this link: Shows.
