The Essence of Truth

in #writing17 days ago

Truth is perhaps the most vital factor of our existence. Truth is what gives life meaning and sustenance. Living in illusion is not only possible; it is easy.

If it ultimately does not do us a disservice to live in illusion, then what difference does it make to live in truth?

There are those who fight tooth and nail to live in illusion; this is concerning. Most of us can probably recognize that comfort can be the most vicious vice of all. Change is difficult, and most people will go to great lengths to avoid it, sometimes even going so far as to defend habit.

An alcoholic would rather pass out drunk than turn to truth and admit that they have a problem. Some would even drink themselves to death as opposed to acknowledging the truth. Is this truly just a matter of ease?

There are others that will actively go out of their way to hide the truth if it does not suit their beliefs, their narrative. This should be considered worse than ignorance, for this illusion attempts to hide the truth from the collective. It is no longer about personal choice.
We were all able to witness this for ourselves during COVID. We were told that if we stood 6 feet apart from one another, we would not catch an airborne virus. Half of us knew it was not true but still went along with it, as opposed to being ostracized by society. Oh, to be judged by a moronic society -- whatta truly horrifying thought!

Families were torn apart and youth perished, both literally and metaphorically. Is it truly just a matter of ease?

Were we not always forewarned that the truth was not meant to be easy? That "you can't handle the truth"? At what point does ignorance graduate to simple, plain ol' stupidity? Or malice?
In an age of smartphones, how difficult is it to take initiative and research truth for oneself? In age of pure degeneracy, how hard can it be to admit when one is wrong?

Apex mammals, top of the food chain -- yet we are still too daft and prideful to disregard ego? How narcissistic does a single person need to be to even think that their miniscule life takes precedence over universal truth? That their life is more important than a universal law?

As much as we would love to see change -- as much as we would all like to live in a utopia -- it will not happen because it requires truth.

The vast majority of humanity is not interested in truth, or change, or living honorably. Only exceptional people are. Truth requires a steady voice, clear head, and a backbone to hold it up. How many people can you personally name that possess these three things? ... Hence why these people are the exception!

I have been an exceptional person my entire life; I have made the conscious effort to live better. I have no ulterior means; I am simply an Aquarius. Truth, justice, and fairness are the principles that my entire existence revolves around.
Nowadays I have reached a point in my life where I can address my personal mistakes and errors with ease. If it is a lie, regardless of how pleasing it is, I immediately abandon the idea and walk away. I have no issues standing by my own beliefs, and if new information comes to light, I take it into account.

This is not a difficult concept; living truthfully is the only thing we are called to do in this life. Yet, for some inexplicable reason, it is something 6 and 1/2 billion people cannot do.

I cannot control other people, let alone what they think. This is why I am perfectly content living in my own bubble of truth, I could care less what happens to mindless masses.
It becomes my problem when others choose to make the lies my problem. It becomes my problem when lies attempt to become my way of life. When people tell me that I can lose my livelihood if I am unvaccinated. Or when people personally have to tell me that my miscarriage "was not life."

I am turning 30 in a month; illusions do not work on me anymore. I will worry about myself and my family -- because the wonderful thing is, I am not worried. Good luck, everybody else.
