Guinness or IPA?
Guinness or IPA that is the question.
Of course living in the home of a Guinness, where glorious black stout pours freely and tastefully from pubs everywhere and anywhere, one might well say Guinness.
That has merit.
On the other hand you've got IPA and it's refreshing, hoppy and tasty flavour.
Why choose and discriminate though eh? Why not have one of each and play both sides of the coin?
So that's exactly what I did. I started with a nice creamy tasty pint of the black stuff made in Ireland, just up the road in St. James Gate brewery.
Is there anywhere I'd prefer to be? Well maybe, maybe just. Some of my friends were up North at the Irish Open, Ireland's premier golf tournament which is taking place this weekend in Royal County Down and it would have been pretty nice to be there.
Irish man Rory McIlroy is leading the way and hopefully he can hold out for the win tomorrow.
Poor auld Rory had been having a fairly tough time of it lately and not quite living up to hid potential. Pound for pound he is one of the best golfers of all time and it seems to be his temperament and grey matter or lack thereof which gets him into trouble more times than not.
As you can see he's one shot clear at the top of the leaderboard with only Manassero close to him on -5. The chasing pack are back on -3, so this is a great chance to get his name back in the winners circle again, which can only help his confidence.
I've landed tickets as well for next year's Brittish Open in Portrush, so really looking forward to that.
