It's week 50, two weeks to go until the end of the year.... and here's my #SaturdaySavers update 😀

Here's my table of progress for the week;
How Did The Week Go ?
Hive Power
The big news this week is - I hit my HP goal for the year. Yay !
There's absolutely no secret about how I did it. A combination of powering a bit of HP up every HPUD, but mostly just being consistent with posting and curating. Doing the hard work of putting the grind in is the best (and often only) way to build wealth.
Having said that, I "fell of the wagon" this week when it came to posting. But I'm not going to beat myself up over it. I still kept up with curating, and it was the craziest week of the year in terms of work (the joys of retail near Christmas....) as well as other real life things going on.
HBD
The price of HIVE did a nice little spike at the beginning of last week.
I've heard rumours it was down to speculation by a few South Koreans, and I wonder if it may tie in with the political uncertainty they've had over there recently. It might not be, of course, but I'm starting to wonder if people are starting to see crypto as a safe harbour for their cash when things go pear-shaped in their area.
From my point of view, it meant that the last of the trades I put in Hivedex kicked in. I must admit, I got a good price. I'd put the trade in at what I'd thought at the time was a silly level, only likely to be hit if we had a massive spike.
Well, it happened. I bought HBD with HIVE at $0.40. But it was HIVE I had purchases when it was just over $0.14 and sat on until then.
That was pretty much the last of my liquid HIVE. Hopefully I'll get some Christmas money and be able to buy more 😁
Thoughts For Next Year
I've started thinking ahead to next year's Saturday Savers.
One thing I'm aware of is that I'm likely to be even more under time pressure than I was this year, so I need to find ways to work more efficiently. There are a few areas where I can focus my time better;
A lesson I've learned is that there are some categories of curation I might put into curation trails next year. I love reading other people's posts, but it can be a real time vampire. there are some (things like Actifit and Distriator) where my upvote is more to support the people I like rather than the content of the posts.
I'll probably drop all my Tribe token goals except for EDS. It doesn't mean I'm not interested in them, but I've realised that the level of volatility means it's impossible to plan long term with them, particularly if it means having to buy rather than earn them. The three projects that interest me are EDS, LEO and BBH, but even with those I'll just let them trog along doing their own thing rather than obsessively monitoring them.
Delegations are nice, but the reality is that my HPO is better used doing curation. For the ones that drip HIVE, the level of delegation needed is quite high. Next year I'll maintain the delegations I've got, but only feed a little more into them.
Now that I've got into the habit of posting more consistently, I need to maintain that. But I should perhaps put a bit more thought into posting more to higher-earning communities. Additionally, I should focus on making posts quicker to write. Sometimes that's just making them a little shorter, and sometimes it's on thinking and planning them ahead of time. Plus using more of the automation Hive provides. But the one thing I won't do is use any kind of AI in creating text, not even first drafts. It's fine for images, but that's it.
On the theme of posting more, it's about time I got my posterior in gear and created a Hive account for my business. I'm in the middle of moving my website to a new platform (a pretty major project), but after that I plan a major marketing effort, and having a Hive account as a knowledgebase fits perfectly into that.
All in all, it was a really god but hectic week. I hope yours has been as awesome ! 😁
If you're not familiar with SaturdaySavers, it's a fabulous initiative run by @shanibeer writing as @sally-saver on the @eddie-earner account, where we all support each other in getting to our savings goals.
If you are one of my friends reading this (or just someone who tripped over one of my posts), I really recommend this as a great community that's well worth joining.
I'm normally very disorganised about saving, and the support of the wonderful people in #SaturdaySavers has been invaluable in keeping me focused. I can honestly say that without it, my HP would probably be half what it is now.
So join ! You don't have to wait until the start of the year. The best time to start saving is ten years ago. The second best time is right now !
