Seasons come and seasons go. This is a geographical characteristics of planet Earth. Imagine if we only ever had one season, let's say winter, the whole world would remain in a state of coldness, day in day out. For some this might be okay as they love the cold but not all of us can be like "queen Elsa" whom the cold doesn't bother anyway.
Speaking on seasons, not every geographical region experiences the same seasons. A particular region can be experiencing one season while another region can be experiencing another different season. The four seasons known all over are Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter but in my geographical region, only two seasons are experienced which are rainy season and dry season. I will be discussing my favourite season and sharing dome insights as to why I prefer this season to others.
My favourite season is the dry season which is akin to Summer. I love it as it is the time of minimal rainfall and more sunlight. I don't do well in the cold and rainy seasons, so I dread that season a lot. Whenever it is the rainy season, my nose gets congested, sometimes runny and accompanied with cough.
Dry season is the real ideal season for me, not that I would want it to go on for longer because of its disadvantages but I feel that its advantages far outweigh its disadvantages, which is a win. Dry season is a season of fun and enjoyment and more leisure. It is also a season with less mosquitoes. Yes, I needed to state that because during the rainy season, mosquitoes get lots of breeding sites (water puddles) for their eggs and later these eggs mature to bite and suck our blood while gifting us a deadly illness called Malaria.
Many folks fix their programs and events during this season so as to avoid weather interference by rains. Also lots of fun activities are carried out during this season. Where I'm from, folks kove to dwell together and lounge while basking in the warmth of the sun.
In fact, statistics shows that wedding ceremonies are held more during summer than any other time of the year and these wedding events are mostly organized as outdoor events where all and sundry can enjoy the scenery.
Sport activities are also packed into this season because of the fair weather and less weather interference. What better time to enjoy beach volleyball than in the dry season?
Dry season is also a period of longer days and short nights. The long days provide ample time to relax and enjoy planned events and gatherings more. Even tourists and tourism industries engage more in the dry season than rainy season, as the weather is bright and cheery, to serve happy sight seekers.
Most schools and educational institutions go on vacation during the dry season. This allows children to bask in the warmth of the sun enjoying themselves, playing on the beach, building sand castles or getting their skin tanned while they bask in the sun's light.
No work interruptions during dry season as the weather is bubbly and clear. This is also a time when most fruits thrive. For instance, most tropical fruits thrive well during the dry season. I am especially fond of coconuts, pineapples and bananas, let's not keave out watermelon, which is a good rehydration fruit.
Simetimes the heat from the rays of the sun might seem scorching and unbearable but this is just a cue for more baths and swimming. Plus you get to dress in very easy and light clothings in the dry season.
Although I prefer the dry season above all others, I would not wish for it to be a permanent feature. I'm so glad that the Earth knows this and creates a balance system for regulating the seasons. All the seasonns are great but my preferred is dry season.
