When you have never been on the other side of the world, you will think life is the same everywhere. You might believe that you know how people live, what life is like, how the world works. However, when you step out of your comfort place and travel to different places to experience life there, your perspective of the world changes. You will now know that there is a totally different world out there that is completely different from what you are used to.
Most people who have never traveled beyond the countries they were born in and so they tend to be very ignorant about how things work in the rest of the world. For the opportunity i got to travel, to see Europe, and visit two other countries, I am and will always be so grateful. The experience was honestly life changing for me.
You’re introduced to different lifestyles, different cultures, and new ideas you never would have dreamed you were interested in before. I realized that people from different countries have their own challenges and joys and dreams. Being in a foreign land gave me a lot more flavor to my life. It’s like suddenly, I began to comprehend the real value of time and hard work.
Ome of the things i noticed when i traveled out of my country is that immigrants are often the most law-abiding people in any country. They might have come from places where there are limited opportunity and so they don’t take anything for granted. They understand that they need to follow the rules and respect the law.
Immigrants understand how precarious their status is that their futures depend on being obedient and industrious so they can’t risk the prospect of the law being broken in any way. Every immigrant in every country knows that they must do better in the system and that their success in this system, which locals may not experience as tightly, is what allows the system to keep running.
It’s also striking both how many people can’t appreciate the things they do own because they have it so much in abaundance. Be it food, water or a roof over their heads, many in develope countries are wasteful of what they have. In underprivileged parts of the world, people fight desperately to survive, and you can easily forget about things like hunger or dehydration when you feel comfortable living in a develope country. Going to places where these challenges are daily realities makes you appreciate the little things more.
Some people are not aware that their true potential might be realised elsewhere and not where they were born. Some have relocated to foreign countries and struggled and prospered in ways you could never have imagined. I’ve learned that it is not always the case that where you were born in life is where you will succeed. For example, Many Ghanaians have migrated and prospered which is a good indication that success can come from exploring different opportunities in other places.
Travelling helped me realize how much more I could get done if I was willing to step outside my comfort zone. The world is open and has so much to offer us but the issue is we sometimes become too comfortable at just one location and are afraid to take a risk to see what's on the other side of the world.
So if you have the opportunity to travel abroad, seize it. Even if you're restrained by some circumstances you have got the internet tonhelp you see what'shappening in other parts of the world. The world is much bigger than you, your finances, and your way of living. You might find something that will turn your entire view of our world. There is so much to learn out there, and the earlier we start opening to it, the better we will be to face a life, with a fresh perspective.
