A Small Investment

Today I had to invest a little into the business in order to grow the business which is a no brainer. The investment was for 106 square meters of black PVC flooring which will be the work area for the punch bags. This is something that is required anyway. The total cost is close to $1000 and that would be recovered within 2 weeks if we land this new client. Not really a risk and a matter of "when" and not an "if" in my view.

The extra business I am now chasing is not huge and I would guess would be around 10 tons per month which is steady business ad adds to the overall tonnage. I would like to be averaging 2 tons daily as soon as possible and who knows maybe even 3 tons is a possibility. Punch bags are sold by weight with a range of sizes available so thinking in kilograms instead of physical numbers makes logical sense.

The floor will be laid this weekend so that means working again as we move the warehouse around yet again creating more space. This is something that happens on a regular basis especially before the Christmas rush hits at the end of this month. The rush will be over by the second week in November and any stock that is not on site by this time period will miss the Christmas sales. This is how the logistics world works and why everyone tries to get their deliveries done early knowing their stock is ready and will not be rejected due to lack of space.

Once the floor has bee laid and the new textile waste material has arrived we will then request the audit and I do not see any problems. We have already paid the fees to be on their books as a registered supplier and what we are doing is next level from what our competitors were doing. Image and first impressions are always very important and a bit like using smoke and mirrors. I have done this before and it works like a charm so I am confident we will be delivering their punchbags very soon. There is no wetting of material or any blades in sight as we do not need this and why we have this business opportunity because everyone else messed up. Having tied up the entire local supply of this particular textile waste we are sitting in a very strong position and what will set us apart from everyone else.

I just wish there was more business locally as once we have achieved 100% market share supply what is next? That would be great position to be in and I suppose just maintaining quality and standards guaranteeing that no competitor can muscle in should be the only worry. This is a fantastic little business and these opportunities just do not happen very often.
