With all the talk with VeChain (VET) focused on CBAM (Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism) which starts in January 2026 there are so many other real life utilities already in use. The My Story Verification for consumer products is just one of them that is just happening behind the scenes. I do see this area having massive potential and growth and one day expect this to be mandatory on every single product.

My Story verification has been around for a number of years and offer consumers all the information just by scanning the verifying barcode onto your smartphone. Products cannot hide by revelations of being green, or place of origin or even questionable nutritional facts. Companies that have the verification stamp in place have nothing to hide because all the data and facts have been verified and checked.

A simple can of tomatoes which is worth a reported $20 billion per year and La Fiammante is the first canned tomato product to have their entire product story available for everyone to read. How the tomatoes are grown, harvested and processed into the can you purchase.

They go into what types of tomatoes are used and how they support sustainability by dealing with farmers directly. All the tomatoes have to be of a certain standard that are checked in laboratories guaranteeing food safety and are certified.

Same again with this pasta manufacturer using the My Story Verification to show their authenticity. This is all developed by the Det Norske Veritas or DNV Group of companies.

This is not solely for food or consumer products, but is being used in energy markets where traceability for various energy is being tracked. Renewables being tracked and being accredited for how they supply their energy being carbon free. Oil and gas guaranteeing best practice etc is being maintained via site inspections. Shipping is another area where companies are being verified for best practice.

The DNV group or Veritas as they are commonly known by are more of a data collection center dealing with information so the industries maintain their standards. I can somehow see this type of information becoming mandatory especially in the EU because they seem to like these types of regulations.

The carbo emissions is already part of this My Story verification process and why I do think this will be one area of growth over the next 18 months for VeChain. The real life use cases through utility is what is going to add true value on any blockchain and VeChain seem to be covering many areas already. The value will come only when the number of transactions increase and I have no doubt this will happen within the next 24 months.
