A new executive order allowing white South Africans the chance to travel to the US on refugee status. Russia offered something similar a few years ago. I have mixed feelings about this new executive order as I know what I would be doing if I was under 40 years of age and South African. This is about being able to live a normal life again with equal opportunity which is obviously not present in SA today. The problem is many skills will leave all in one go.

I know the Executive order was speaking about land grabs without compensation which came into law a few weeks ago, but to be honest I have not heard of any actually taking place yet. The worrying part is it actually became a law and who knows further down the line with another government what might happen.
The biggest problem is SA is the way business is conducted and the racist rules that are imposed from hiring practices and how the business is run. Thankfully we don't abide by them and stick to running a business the best we can even though it would restrict who we could supply.
I think my case is a good example as having two white kids born in SA the work opportunity they would have is very limited. This is the one good reason why you have to have your own business as you can employ your family knowing they are being looked after.
The corporate business world is way different as the bigger companies have to abide by certain hiring rules ad this is based all on race and not if you are the best applicant for the job or not. This is like racist DEI hiring on steroids and this is the big disadvantage being White, Indian or Colored.
How they grade their hiring is ow they boost their BEE ratings and it starts with Black male/Black female/Disabled Black male and female/Indian male/Indian Female/Colored male/Colored female and only then do you have a white person on the list at the tail end of the list. This is racist as every race besides the blacks are disadvantaged and why all eyes ae on SA these days. This is not new and has been ongoing since 1994.
This is why most white South Africans ted to leave the shores as they know there is no opportunities back home. This is not only found in work practices but also in higher education as I explained about my wife's niece on what she had to do to become a doctor.
Universities have x amount of spaces for various degrees and the majority are taken up by the black applicants and not on their results. She had may distinctions and had to become a chiropractor first so she could become a 3rd year medical student bypassing what would have been impossible otherwise. She is a qualified GP now specializing in blood ad she often talks about how bad he system is. The sad part is many leave the country to go study overseas because they cannot get the same opportunities here.
I do think wat Trump has done has opened a can of worms with many saying this is nonsense and untrue yet we see it in our every day life how disadvantaged certain races are. This is reverse racism or racism and there is nothing else, but to call it what it is.
May will leave and take this opportunity and I know many skills will be lost locally and the US will definitely benefit from who they are taking in. Farmers who own farms will be reluctant to leave unless they are given land that side to start farming. I have heard reports of 20K people opting to take this deal, but know of personally of around 10 people who are going and they are all under 30 years of age. We shall see how this plays out and if the SA government steps in to offer more assistance trying to keep people from leaving.
