This photo was taken shortly before sunset in the Argentine town of Carhue, that is located by the shores of Lake Epecuén. The trees on the photo look dead. They are still standing, but completely without leaves. This happened because of flooding in 1985, when the water level in the lake raised approx. ten meters. The dam broke, but the water rose little by little. The water did cause damaged to buildings, roads etc, but Carhue was rather lucky. Another little town by the lake almost disapeared under water for 25 years, before the water started to recide, revaling the ruins.
