The gift of life is the biggest blessing that can happen to me in a day; it's the foundation of every other beautiful thing that would happen to me that day, so my morning automatically starts with gratitude. It's not usually a lengthy process, but my day doesn't seem to start properly without it because I will always be drawn back to the thought that seeing another sunrise is a priceless gift that some people didn't get that morning.
A new day is always an opportunity for me to spend another quality time with my family, make mistakes and learn from them, put a smile on someone's face, and make myself happier so it's something I appreciate a lot.
Starting my day with gratitude have a positive psychological effect and puts me in the right state of mind for the new day. Being an early riser, I get out of bed on most days before 6 am and always feel very energetic to start my day immediately. It's always like that even after a short nap, so I don't take sleeping lightly whenever my body is demanding it since it's an opportunity for me to recharge.
As tempting as it is to always start my day with coffee, it's not usually my first drink in the morning. For many years now, water is the first thing I drink in the morning just to clean my body system.
I drink water while while exercising, it could be going for a walk/jog outdoors or just simple exercises to stretch my body in my apartment. I take at least one of my bottles before freshening up in the morning, and it helps a lot, especially when I am doing my thing.
After exercising and freshening up comes my morning coffee ritual and that's when I go to the kitchen to make hot water for my instant coffee.
I love my coffee hot in the morning because it does more magic than having a cold coffee at that time of the day.
Immediately the hot water hits the instant coffee powder in my mug, it releases an aroma that I always want to catch because it awakens my sense of smell. The heat from the mug sends warmth from my palm to my entire body, and I love that feeling as well. I move on to taking the first sip from the mug, and that does the final job; it sends a signal that my day has properly begun and my entire body is activated for the day's task.
Without coffee, I can still go about doing my daily task but it's just impossible for me to reject an extra push a cup of coffee is offering me, plus it's a ritual, and a few things wouldn't go properly without it.
I usually do not make coffee just for myself since my wife enjoys it as well. Although she doesn't join me for the previous activities but we share coffee together, and it's one of our bonding moments. We get to talk about important stuff and share plans of our activities for the day. We can assist each other with one or two things, including replanning the day's activities if necessary.
Sometimes I stop at a cup of coffee, and are there days I go on to three, which only happens when we have a lot to talk about or on days when I feel unmotivated or tired after my other activities before coffee.

Once I am done with my morning coffee, I feel more energised and ready to start my work or task for the day. Being a fish farmer, I usually don't have a lot to do at the farm except when I have more tasks than just feeding the fish, so I spend an hour or two before returning home.
I attend to some chores at home, and breakfast doesn't come until it's almost noon; it's something I am used to already so my body has adapted well to it.
There are little changes on a very cold morning, and that is me returning home to rely on another cup of coffee for the warmth it's offering. Trekking to the farm and back is enough to make me warm due to the distance, but there are mornings when my body can't resist the cold and I depend on coffee to stay in shape for other activities that follow.
It's a simple morning ritual, but doing these things every day has helped me physically, mentally, and emotionally, and I don't see myself stopping anytime soon. Thanks for reading.
