Going through my collection of silver rounds, I came across a token with very unique significance. Seven years ago (going on eight), this guy (ironshield) made an account on a blockchain called STEEM with a variety of thriving communities. Some posts were making HUNDREDS of dollars, because they rewarded so much of the token that was worth over $1.00. This got people interested in posting (frequently) and commenting (frequently) and curating (frequently).
Much time has passed and the blockchain forked into what we know now as HIVE. It's a long story, I'm sure anyone curious about it can learn all the details, but most of the communities followed onto HIVE. Some rules have changed, activity has changed, token value has changed... but the biggest buzz about the previous blockchain has sort of been realized. That is "SMT" or "Smart Media Token" realized with 2nd layer tokens on hive-engine. Anyone can now make their own 2nd layer token. It's not as fast as the main chain, but completely useable and still faster than the legacy (but much more valuable) coins like BTC or ETH.
The best coins of all are made of physical metal, preferably precious like silver or gold. That is why one of my greatest investments was getting this 2017 Silver round using exclusively crypto currency. Posting and commenting earned me enough to hold a physical token in my hand.
Much of what made the old blockchain so great is still here today, despite the cynics. It's far from perfect or fair, but as our long time block-chain enthusiest @papa-pepper said "Don't post for free." I've taken that advice and left Facebook and Insta and all the rest and only exclusively use media related to THIS chain.
I have to admit that by 2024 HIVE was supposed to be over $10, I mean how could it not? But the post and earn and sell routine is attractive for many and I get it. Instead, I post and earn and INVEST back to earn more and this tactic has been working well for me.
Maybe someday we'll have a 2024 HIVE token similar to this one. I think it may be dependent on on-boarding, activity and HIVE purchasing. All of which are within our grasp.
