I have just massively binged 'Silo' and this is why you should too

Do you ever have it that a series catches you so fast, you just wait to rush home to continue watching it because you want to see where it leads? To me 'Silo' is one of these kinds of series. With 2 seasons binged in less than two weeks, the immediate action to do after finishing so, was checking is there was already a season 3 in the making.

The good news is, there is more to come!

Spoiler Alert: Think about if you want to continue reading as there might be some massive spoilers here waiting for you. I found there were a lot of plot twists especially in season 1, so better stop here and just watch the series if you are really interested

So what it is about

So the story is about a community who all live underground in a massive silo because for some reason it is too dangerous to go outside. Everyone who lives here has lived in the silo for their entire life and there there is this whole mini society gone on.

This whole series is based on the Silo books written by Graham Yost and are called 'Wool' 'Shift' and 'Dust'. If I understand the interwebz correctly, the first two seasons were kind of based on the books, and season 3 takes a bit of a side turn of the story.

The storyline starts following the life of sherrif Holston from where immediately flash backs start to when his wife commited suicide by going outside to 'clean'. They call it cleaning because there is a camera pointed on the outside which every now and then requires a cleaning, but this also means that you will be exposed to the outside air which is no bueno.

A rule in the silo is once you decide to go outside and say that out loud, there is no turning back anymore. Flashback to sherrif Holton again, he also decides to go outside. In his will he leaves that he appoints a new sherrif called Juliette Nichols.

The storyline is about what she all goes through in the silo and why she gets deeper and deeper wrapped in the mystery also in the end making her go outside.

Screenrant

I though after season 1 that potentially season 2 would be a deception because the storyline of the first season was so damn strong. With adding more new factors in, and also new headline players in with Juliette...this is really a pull in factors because you want to know what happens.

And now we are stuck in the waiting game

A lot of people compare this series to the series 'Fallout' and I can understand where they come from. Life after a gigantic disaster, always a good topic right? But if you ask me, 'Silo' is a way more capturing story, because it is a less absurd kind of situation.

And with the cliffhanger from season 2 at the end...well yeah...that is really a scream for MOREEE

(I check to see if there were some trailers, but nothing official is out...only summaries which suck...Boooh!)

Silo is an awesome show!!

Hahaha it was indeed! DId you also binge it like I did or did you take some more time in there? :D

I didn't binge, just 1 or 2 episodes at a time, but mostly 1 at a time because I was watching them as they were coming out. :)

Watched Silo too! Thanks for your support! I hope to continue having it!

Ahhhh you liked it as well then? :D

Yes, I did. Looking forward for more seasons

That sound like an intriguing story. Sometimes I've seen stories starts off so good that it's difficult to end them on a high and it sorts of fizzle out and think.... oh , is that it? Looks like this still have some seasons to go if it's got you so hooked.

I binge watched two seasons of The Diplomat last week and like you immediately looked for more. Luckily season 3 is confirmed and they're even quite far into filming. Still got a long time to wait before its released.

Ive seen 'the Diplomat' dropping by a couple of times but didn't start on it (as yet)...but it seems like something I should watch then? Hhaha...maybe it was just binging time this week.

Yeah..the story got me hooked indeed, but it will take some years to get in the next 2 season before they air (unfortunately)

concept of after apocalypses community living in a closed spaces or surviving in the wild is nothing new, but i must say Silo got me hooked with season 1. And i went through season 2 as it was released.
I felt season 1 was a bit stronger but season 2 had a lot of those "answer" moments that we waited for after season 1 :D
And they did a good job with all of them.
I hope they don't stretch it out more then they should. And the final explanation will probably not be spectacular, but i do hope they keep the quality till the end.

Trying my best to not see any book spoilers :D

It can be compared with Fallout only by the initial concept of vaults. Fallout was always about all the weirdness in the outside world, and all the little weird and funny things. At least for me as a big fan of the games.

I was actually really surprised that season 2 turned out so good. Exactly what you say..it provided a lot of answers, and i was super happy that even though 'an extra setting' had entered the storyline...there was still enough regarding to the space from season one that kept the story as a whole.

That is also what I am wondering on season three. New players, new storyline...I also hope there will be enough regarding to the stories in season 1 and 2 and that it is not only 'introducing the new story'

My hands were actually itching to get the book to know more about the story, but I am going to leave it hahaha

reviles were done pretty good, the sets were interesting. overall i hate that i have to wait a year or more for season 3 :D

I binged the 1st season loving the first 4 episodes after which I became more of a soap of the life inside of the Silo. I really liked the ening of season 1 which gave a clear answer. Season 2 I went at the pace of 1 episode a week which kind of took away from it as I prefer to just binge something like this and really get into it. I still look forward to the 3rd and 4th season even though I'm tempted to just look up all the spoilers from the books and get it over with.
