Three Tune Tuesday Week #164 - World Rock Day || Día Mundial del Rock [ENG/ESP]
Last Saturday, July 13, music lovers and music lovers in general, particularly those of the old school, were celebrating a very important date in the calendar, and that day is celebrated as World Rock Day.
The reason for choosing this date was the realization of the mega rock concert "Live Aid", held on July 13, 1985, which was attended by important bands and performers of that time, from Europe and the United States of America in order to raise charitable funds for Somalia and Ethiopia, African countries that were going through a severe shortage of food and drinking water in the early 80s.
On that day, not only the great stars of rock, but also of other musical genres such as pop, folk, blues and soul, came together in this great event that took place simultaneously on two stages with live performances, both in the mythical and iconic Wembley Stadium in London and at JFK Stadium in Philadelphia, which were transmitted via satellite to 72 countries, and with an estimated audience of about one billion people.
This event was considered one of the most successful humanitarian aid festivals of all time and was attended by several rock legends such as The Who, Led Zeppelin, Queen, Dire Straits, Sting, David Bowie, Duran Duran, Judas Priest, Black Sabbath, Scorpions, U2, Paul McCartney, Elton John, Santana, Elvis Costello, The Pretenders, Eric Clapton and Phil Collins, among other artists.
The goal was more than met, raising more than 100 million dollars, thanks to the organization of Irish musician Bob Geldof, lead singer of the band Boomtown Rats and who participated as an actor in the movie The Wall, based on the album of the same name by the British band Pink Floyd.
Geldorf was inspired to organize "Live Aid" by the work of ex-Beatle George Harrison in the first charity festival in history, held in 1971, called "The Concert For Bangladesh", which sought to raise funds for this impoverished Southeast Asian nation.

El pasado Sábado 13 de Julio los melómanos y amantes de la música en general, particularmente los de la vieja escuela, estuvimos festejando una fecha importantísima en el calendario, y es que ese día se celebra el Día Mundial del Rock.
La razón para escoger esta fecha, fue la realización del mega concierto de rock "Live Aid", efectuado el 13 de julio de 1985, y el cual contó con la presencia de importantes bandas e intérpretes musicales de aquel tiempo, procedentes de Europa y los Estados Unidos de América con el fin de recaudar fondos benéficos para Somalia y Etiopía, países del continente africano que atravesaban por una severa escasez de alimentos y agua potable a principios de la década de los 80.
Ese día se dieron cita, no solo las grandes estrellas del rock, sino también de otros géneros musicales como el pop, folk, blues y soul, en ese grandioso evento que se efectuó de forma simultánea en dos escenarios con presentaciones en vivo, tanto en el mítico e icónico Estadio Wembley de la ciudad de Londres y en el Estadio JFK de Filadelfia, los cuales fueron transmitidos vía satélite a 72 países, y con una audiencia estimada de unas mil millones de personas.
Este evento fue considerado uno de los festivales de ayuda humanitaria más exitosos de todos los tiempos y contó con la presencia de varias leyendas del rock como The Who, Led Zeppelin, Queen, Dire Straits, Sting, David Bowie, Duran Duran, Judas Priest, Black Sabbath, Scorpions, U2, Paul McCartney, Elton John, Santana, Elvis Costello, The Pretenders, Eric Clapton y Phil Collins, entre otros artistas.
El objetivo se cumplió con creces, recaudándose mas de 100 millones de Dólares, gracias a la organización del músico irlandés Bob Geldof, vocalista de la banda Boomtown Rats y quien participara como actor en la película The Wall, basada en el álbum homónimo de la banda británica Pink Floyd.

Money for Nothing - Dire Straits | Sting
Song by the British band Dire Straits included in their fifth studio album, entitled Brothers in Arms, which was released in 1985.
It was composed by the guitarist and lead singer of the band, Mark Knopfler, in collaboration with Sting, becoming the band's most successful single, after reaching the first position in the Billboard Hot 100 in the United States, and the fourth position in the UK charts, as well as a Grammy Award in the 1986 edition.
Tema de la banda británica Dire Straits incluido en su quinto álbum de estudio, titulado Brothers in Arms, que fuese lanzado al mercado en 1985.
Fue compuesto por el guitarrista y vocalista principal de la banda, Mark Knopfler, en colaboración con Sting, convirtiéndose en el sencillo más exitoso de la agrupación, luego de alcanzar la primera posición en el Billboard Hot 100 de los Estados Unidos, y la cuarta en las listas del Reino Unido, además de un Premio Grammy en la edición de 1986.

Paranoid - Black Sabbath feat Ozzy Osbourne
Song from 1970 performed by the British heavy metal group Black Sabbath, included in the band's second album, titled Paranoid, after the record label objected to its original title, War Pigs, in order to avoid conflicts between supporters of the Vietnam War.
Paranoid became one of the band's most famous songs, reaching number four in the UK singles chart, number two in the Dutch Top 40 in the Netherlands, while in the United States it barely reached number 61.
Rolling Stone magazine ranked it 250th on its list of The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time.
Canción de 1970 interpretada por el grupo de heavy metal británico Black Sabbath, incluida en el segundo álbum de la banda, titulado Paranoid, luego de que la disquera objetó su título original, War Pigs, a fin de evitar conflictos entre apoyaban la Guerra de Vietnam.

In the Air Tonight - Phil Collins
In the Air Tonight is the first single from British singer-songwriter Phil Collins' debut solo studio album Face Value, released in 1981.
The song's lyrics, like those of all the songs on the album, describe the traumatic separation between the musician and his first wife a couple of years earlier, in 1979.
It reached No. 2 on the UK singles chart, No. 19 on the Billboard Hot 100, and in 2021, Rolling Stone ranked it No. 291 on its list of The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time.
In the Air Tonight es el primer sencillo del álbum debut de estudio como solista del cantautor británico Phil Collins, titulado Face Value, lanzado al mercado en 1981.
La letra de la canción, como la de todas las canciones del álbum, describe la traumática separación entre el músico y su primera esposa un par de años antes, en 1979.
Alcanzó la segunda posición en la lista de sencillos del Reino Unido, la número 19 en el Billboard Hot 100, y en 2021, Rolling Stone la ubicó en el puesto número 291 en su lista de Las 500 Mejores Canciones de Todos los Tiempos.

This is my selection of the week. Somehow, I wanted to pay a small, very small tribute to rock, probably one of the most universal musical genres, and that laid the foundations of what today is the music industry, with its mistakes and successes.
Finally, I bid you all farewell, hoping that the songs I chose for this week are to your liking.
Esta es mi selección de la semana. De alguna manera, quise rendir un pequeño, muy pequeño tributo al rock, probablemente uno de los géneros musicales mas universales, y que sentó las bases de lo que hoy en día es la industria musical, con sus errores y aciertos.
Finalmente, me despido de todos, esperando que los temas que escogí para esta semana sean de su agrado.
