Today, we spent the day doing a major clean-up inside the house, especially the living room. We vacuumed cobwebs, cleaned the fans, rearranged the furniture, swept and mopped the floors, and even cleared the drain that was starting to get overgrown with weeds. Rex and Rez helped out too, cleaning the house and wrapping gifts for the Sunday School kids who’ll be visiting later. A caroling team made up of Sunday School children and their teachers will be stopping by our house.
This is the second day of caroling in our village. Each day, for three days, two groups of kids visit 10 to 11 houses. Today, our house is the second-to-last stop on their route. We’re excited to welcome the kids to sing Christmas songs for our family. Even though our own kids couldn’t join the caroling team, they were excited to see it. Maybe next year, they’ll have the chance to take part. I really hope so.
I’m also grateful that my parents are here with us to welcome the Sunday School children. It’s such a blessing to have them around. There were about 20 kids and 7 teachers who came to our house. They sang Christmas songs, shared God’s Word, and prayed for our family and the others they visited.
The whole visit lasted about 20 minutes. My wife handed out gifts to each child and teacher. As they left, they hurried to their cars because it was getting dark and starting to rain. Their last stop for the evening is at my uncle’s house nearby—my mom’s younger brother. I pray for their safe journey and wish them a Merry Christmas!
