This is my post for #freewriters 2540 prompt hearing loss hosted by @mariannewest

My husband fished yesterday and caught 12 pompano that weighed 32 pounds and now it is going to blow for the rest of the week. He said he would have caught more if he could have gotten there earlier, he left the house before daylight. He said just before he got to Donald McDonald's campground which is where he puts his boat in the water, another truck with a boat pulled in ahead of him and he said it took them 30 minutes to put their boat overboard.

He fished Long Point and as soon as he got up on the flat, he skipped a pompano he said he did not want to stop for one so he went on and another one skipped, he went on and two skipped off of his boat, he then thought he better stop. He caught the 12 real fast and then it was over. He came home disgusted with the boater that took so long to put their boat in the water.

I guess it has been too long of a time since I fished, I thought he beat my 6 pound record with this fish, but when he weighed it at the fish house it only weighed 4.6 pounds, to me it looked bigger than that.

I think one or both of us has hearing loss or one of us hears things that was not said. A few weeks ago the state plant inspector was to come and inspect our areca palms, to be a licensed plant nursery we have to have one inspection per year.

My husband wanted to go to the cheap store and told me to deal with the inspector, she was coming in the morning time. I said to my husband, "why are you going to the cheap store so early, they do not put out the produce until 11 or 12".

The next day he did not go to the cheap store when he said he was going he met with the inspector. When I asked him why he did not go, he told me I said I did not want to deal with her. I said, when did I say that? And he says, "you said, they do not put the produce out until later". Yes, I said that, how does that say I do not want to deal with the inspector? He refused to answer me.

That somewhat funny. He heard exactly what you said. But, he interpreted differently. How so?

I thought he beat my 6 pound record with this fish

Good to hear that your husband couldn't beat you :)

He does that many times, I know he hears me but puts his words into it.

Yes, my record catch still stands.

Great 😃
