When Florida passed the ban on nets we had to pull all of ours from the fish houses and piled them in our yard to be sold. I told my grandson to climb on them and act mad, the first photo he is looking cute and the second one he was yelling RRRRRRRRRRRRR but it looks like he is saying hello not so much anger in his pictures.

My husband was not happy in this photo, he is taking our nets to sell to the State.

This is one of the places you had to take your nets to be sold. They pulled them over these roller things and it counted how many yards of net you had.
The net ban created a wedge between sport fishermen and commercial fishermen. The sports thought they would get rid of us. What it did was put us in direct competition with them. Now we use a rod and reel and work in the daytime where we are right there in their face whereas with nets, a lot was at night and we caught a lot of fish that did not bite a hook. Yes, I still have a lot of anger over the net ban.

It is not just me, there is so much anger everywhere, you see more of it on the road. The other day I was driving in a parking lot and came to a turning place, I had the right-a-way and the car in the other lane honked at me like I did something wrong, I was quick to give them the finger. My daughter said, "Did you just flip them off"? I was embarrassed that I did that. It was not as I thought about what I was doing, it was a fast reaction to them honking at me. My normal reaction would have been smiling and waving at them. I am going to try and not let this happen again.

The election has ratcheted the tensions up ... I find reading Galatians 5:16-26 very helpful, and every day asking the Spirit to help me stay in vs. 22-25, not any of the others!

I've noticed more and more impatient drivers in our area. It's tempting to blame it on the huge influx of people from California, Oregon, and Washington, but I'm sure we have our share of "locals" who get impatient, too. One driver behind me honked his horn at me while I was waiting for a safe opening to make a left from one state highway onto another, where there is no traffic light. I don't drive a zippy sports car, so I need a large gap in traffic to pull it off.

I hear you, I also do the same, I make sure I have plenty of room before pulling into traffic,
