This is my post for #freewriters 2582 prompt bad estimate hosted by @mariannewest

Three and a half years later my Mom's estate is finally settled, all of her property is now in my and my sister's names. It has been a long journey but everything turned out as Mom wanted. I have the 2 lots in North Florida in my name and my name and my sister's names are on the papers for Mom's house and land in Alabama.

We are going to sell the Alabama land first but need to get an appraisal. I am not sure who to call because I do not live there and we are afraid of getting a bad estimate on the place. we are thinking of selling it by owner instead of paying a realtor.

This might be a mistake but we think if we advertise in a NY newspaper, it might sell. We think it is zone commercial and it is on a main highway, there are supposed to be two septic systems, 2 power poles, and two places for a house or trailer.

My sister Christine called this morning and told me Kathy(the other sister) left her phone at work last night and wants me to ride with her to get it. When Kathy came to pick me up she told me how she contacted Christine to call me.

Kathy said she could not figure out how to call anyone when she remembered the ring doorbell also rings on Christine's phone. She said after several times pushing the button and acting crazy in front of it, Christine answered her, but she could not hear anything Kathy was saying. Kathy said she finally took the Ring doorbell out of its holder and walked through the house saying can you hear me now until she reached a spot where Christine could hear her. I would have never thought of talking to someone's phone through the doorbell.

That was a creative way to contact someone. I wouldn't have thought of it, either.

That took long. Three years. I find it unbelievable how long it takes if it comes to property of your own mother (family). I wonder about the doorbell. What type is it that that you can talk through it? I guess what we have is very old fashioned but your sister is very smart to think of that. End good all good or is her phone taken away by someone?

They are called Ring doorbells that connect to your internet by Bluetooth and have a camera where you can see who is at the door and talk to them, when you are not home it rings on your phone and you can talk that way too. It also alerts you to any movement in front of it and you can see what or who it is, they do not need to push the button, but they have to do it to talk.

Yes 3 years for a simple probate where everyone agreed on things, my sister hired shitty lawyers.
