...and this little one came in to remind me this morning.
It is called a laughing dove, and it sat on our front gate post.
This world is in turmoil, as not only the wars between countries, but also nature's global warming is creating havoc and bedlam, and that's just the tip of the iceberg. Millions try to flee to safer countries to escape with their lives from their own countries, and many die in the process, due to greedy people placing them in rickety boats to cross dangerous water canals and dangerous oceans. No peace.
Wildfires are changing the landscapes in many countries, and many people lose all that they have toiled for in their lives. The rough and polluted oceans are stranding even whales and orcas on the beaches. I am just trying to show you the ever worsening conditions that we all have to live in and believe me when I say that one has to have one's wits on high alert these days. Again, no peace.
Our sliding gate is only 5 meters away from me, but it didn't seem to trouble the peace messenger.
Instead, the little dove started preening itself, as if it had no care in the world.
And then, believe it or not, it sat sleeping in the morning sun.
A Cape Sparrow couple landed on our driveway lamp above the gate.
But they saw something and they, and the little dove, took off in a great hurry.
Simply because there was some danger above in the sky.
A hungry Jackal Buzzard came cruising over.
So, the peaceful show was over, and I was just glad that I could see it all.
The lesson for me this morning was clearly spelled out by the actions of the birds. Nature was warning me to prevent anything, or anyone that tries to destroy the peace in my heart. Nothing can replace it, and the best thing to do when it becomes endangered, is to flee as fast as one can, especially if one faces impossible odds. A peaceful brew is to be desired every day, and one has to go to extra lengths to keep it like such at whatever cost. Prayers for everyone and your families as we start the next annual cycle, known as a year. May there be days where people can sing in one accord, with no fear, overcoming the challenges as conquerors. Healing is needed in the countries.
Some things to think about.
I hope you enjoyed the pictures and the story.
