Creative Sunday: How I Made My First Fried Rice.

Hello everyone it's Creative Sunday!

Today I will take you through how I made my first ever fried rice. I used to have this fear of cooking fried rice thinking it would go wrong, the seasoning might be too much or it's going to come out too soft. This is my first food blog, though it's not all perfect, I just want to share it with you. While preparing the dish and taking pictures and videos, I forgot to capture some parts because I was hungry I just wanted to see and taste the result. I don't know how bloggers have the patience to take pics of almost every step. Kudos to them!

Ingredients

Rice
Chicken
Curry
Thyme
Maggi
Onion
Nutmeg
Salt
Bay leave
Shallot
Vegetables (carrots, green beans peas, green pepper yellow and red pepper, sweet corn spring onion)

Procedures

I washed my chicken thoroughly and then added my seasoning( curry, onion, thyme, Maggi, salt, bay leaf, and shallot). I let it in the bowl to marinate and set it aside

Next, I washed and diced my vegetables (carrots, green pepper, spring onion, red and yellow pepper)

Once the chicken was ready for cooking, I placed it in the pot and allowed it to steam for 5 minutes before adding water, which would serve as my cooking stock. After the chicken was cooked, I fried it

While boiling the chicken, I washed the rice and parboiled it to reduce the starch and to make the grains separate. I made sure to rinse the parboiled rice thoroughly

After washing the rice and setting aside. I added the chicken stock to a pot along with some seasoning and enough water to cook the rice. Then I added the rice. I also added curry powder and a pinch of fried rice spice. I covered the pot and let it cook.
Once the rice was cooked, I removed it from the heat and started frying the vegetables.
I used the groundnut oil I had used to fry my chicken, I added the carrot and green bean first to the hot oil since they take longer time to cook. After a minute, I added sweet corn and peas followed by the peppers and spring onion.

After frying my vegetables, I set aside some of them and added a portion of the cooked rice to the vegetables in the pot. I stirred the mixture until everything was well combined, then poured it into the bowl. I repeated this process for the remaining rice and vegetables and poured into a bowl to cool.

The fried rice came out so well. My friends came around and also testified that the fried rice was indeed delicious. This is me after eating the wonderful meal and ready to sleep😂.

Thank you for visiting my blog.
