theHunter: Call of the Wild got a new map called Sundarpatan, which depicts three major biomes from Nepal. I have not explored it a lot as I still don't own that DLC and am waiting for it to go on sale but that doesn't mean I cannot play. You can still play on multiplayer maps hosted by other players who own the DLC. Usually the multiplayer has a lot of issues in this game but once in a while, you get a good host which doesn't kick you automatically. So, I explored a lot of the northern part of this map. Let me share with you some of the beautiful shots I took.

We should start with the outpost designs. Each reserve has unique designs of outposts which suit the local environments and this map has one of the best ones full of unique designs and cultural motifs.

My favourites are the ones on the 'Pahad' or the central biomes. They use a lot of white, red and blue and mostly are two-story structures. These outposts are not just one little building but a few buildings, like a small village in these mountains and forests.

They also have some temples. I found a little Ganesha temple close to one of them. Nepal's major religion is Hinduism so it makes sense to have a lot of temples like these. Even inside the outposts, you will find some Hindu motifs.

Apart from Hinduism, it also has a good Buddhist influence and we have some structures for that too.

Those eyes represent the Eyes of Buddha and these gates are in a lot of places.

There are some Stupas as well with similar eyes. The above one was located on a mountaintop.

Just a few hundred meters from this Stupa was another outpost but this one was located much higher than the last ones that I showed you. The iconic white paints on the walls were gone and they are not as big as the other ones. But these provide much better views of the Himalayan range.

But a big letdown was the watch towers. They were just simple metal towers, not even that high and looks like the developers didn't spend much time on them. I admit that I have not explored a lot of them but the ones I have seen had the same designs.

Let's talk about the Wildlife. Most of the reserve is covered with thick forest and it becomes a lot difficult to spot animals. You will find a lot of Wooly Hare running around and hiding in the grasses. They are really hard to hunt. On the other hand, Water Buffalos are easy to come by and they get aggressive and come towards you. So, they are by far the easiest animals to hunt in this reserve.

There are a few lakes in this reserve and I found a large group of Nilgai drinking water there. This was a zoomed image so the quality is not that good but you can see how many of them were there! This might be due to the lack of any other water bodies in this part of the reserve.

If you go higher in the northern part of the reserve you will see a lot of open fields and meadows where you can get some amazing views of the snowy Himalayan Peaks. You can tell how even Sheru was enjoying those views.

Some of the trails take you to the top of the hill and they are really beautiful. The 'Himal' (snowy mountain) or the northern region of the reserve is really pleasing to the eyes. I spotted a Wild Yak there and it was aggressive. Good to see some aggressive animals in the reserve. They need to make the animals a bit more aggressive so it becomes a bit of a challenge.

This map does have the Bengal Tiger and I am excited to see it. I haven't encountered one nor I saw any clues or signs of it. Maybe they are in the more dense part of the reserve and I have yet to explore those parts, especially the southern region.

But for now, I will enjoy these mountains for some more time and I will buy this DLC soon. I am really impressed with it. They did a really good job with this one.
