Sometimes, it's the tiniest things that let us know if someone has a good heart or not. It could be you going out of your way to help someone without them even asking for that help, or you just putting in a good word for someone without their knowledge...and sadly, sometimes it's you having the passion to want to help, but not being able to because you don't have the right resources required to help.
Earlier today, I was showing my friends a video of a tiktoker whose name is Asherkine. This tiktoker's content is all about helping people, and he had recently posted a video where he touched the lives of many people by giving them money and foodstuff.
While I was showing my friends that video, the majority of them were more interested on how they could meet someone like that guy, so that they too could receive free stuff from him, but one of my friend had made a statement that actually got to me, even though I tried not to show it.
He said "How I wish God could bless me like this, so that I can help people too".
Rather than focus on receiving like the rest of the guys did, he was far more interested in giving out.
Now I know you guys might say that in order for him to be able to give out like that guy, he has to receive first (meaning he will be rich anyway, therefore also receiving in the process), but why I truly knew that he wasn't focused on the receiving part but more on the giving part was because this wasn't the first time I've see him do the little he can do to help someone.
During one Sunday while myself and about five other of my friends were taking a stroll in my school, we had seen this old lady selling groundnut by the road side. This same guy had sympathized with her and asked us if we had any money to give to him (he had none on him), so that he could buy some groundnut from the money and help her go home early.
When he said this, we all had walked over to the lady and bought as much groundnut as we could, because we understood what he wanted to do, and we saw the good in it.
Someone like that is the difference between helping genuinely or just helping someone because you want to be seen as a good person.
