This week's Battle Mage rule set challenge was Shades of Grey in which only neutral monsters may be used!
Shades of grey general strategy....
Well there's not too much to say, other than this is going to be quite challenging as you have to throw out everything you know about all of the cards belonging to this or that splinter!
I guess it's usual battle rules, such as focus on Speed as a priority!
Shades of Grey battle exemplar
The battle below shows a battle featuring the Water splinter in a comprehensive victory!
Mana and rulesets:
- Shades of Grey Only
- 26 mana
Summoner - Waka - for the poison!
- Zenith Monk - a nice neutral, low mana tank
- Dr Blight - one of the best neutral cards for the mana!
- Spirit Hoarder - again awesome punching for the mana
- Nimble Ranger - I needed a snipe card, with the poison!
- Gem Meteor - outrageous damage with scattershot!
The battle...
- round 1 - We trade blows for no loss, but I get TWO poisons in!
- round 2 - The Monk and the Snake go down to poison, nice! My combined damage manages to take out the Junker!
- round 3 - the Time Mage dies to poison at the beginning of the round and it's all over, just the ranged monk in first!
Final battle analysis
Well I did have TWO awesome Legendaries and Poison really worked well. Also SPEED played a crucial role, my opponent missed me three times, this probably wouldn't have affected the outcome of the battle, but it certainly helped!
I had plenty of health to spare at the end. A comprehensive victory!
Shades of Grey final thoughts...
There are not many legendary neutral cards but they certainly come in extra handy in this ruleset!!!!
