You can feel the difference in taste

Pesticide Free.png

While coming from the native this time, I brought two comb (hands) of curry bananas as the entire bunch was ready to be served and it was very well grown this time. Since that day, we are having plain banana fries at home at kid's demand - the very first day they ate this, they could feel the difference in taste - that's the reality of pesticide free vegetable. They usually don't like to eat the banana fries on a regular basis, but this is so tasty that, they want to eat it everyday, till its over. WE kept it outside, instead of a freezer and it remains fresh, not sure, because of being organic.

One and half month back, I had provided support to this tree about which I wrote in this post and now you can compare the growth, the tree definitely recognizes our help and gives back. I had to climb that wall to cut them and the above image is before cutting them.

And I cut down the two upper combs from the bunch, which was having more than two dozens of bananas. The next day Mom cut the plant, and kept a comb at home and distributed the remaining to others. She will also have the pleasure of utilizing the stem inside, the natural stomach cleanser. We use every part of the banana tree, the fruit, the leaves, the stem, and flowers. Have you ever tasted the flowers or stem curry ? They need some special processing and Mom knows best how to do that.

And then we have Papaya trees all over the backyard, Mom just throws the seeds and they grow on their own. Same goes with curry leaves plants - there are many of them. The smell of these fresh curry leaves are so different than the ones available in market.

And I prepared four containers for Mom to plant some saplings that I have put. Rain has not stopped, but its already due to put plants for Winter, so I got them ready so that Mom does not do it herself.

She is not a great photographer, but she managed to take few pictures and these two were the best. Now that, we have made up our mind on Dad's treatment plan, she is not stressed any longer. Hopefully we will have some flowery experiences in the coming winter.

And I did a DIY project to clean an area and got lot of pesticide free custard apples as well - more to come on that.

Nothing beats the products that are free of pesticides. 😊

I have never seen this kind of banana before
I’m sure to the pure green ones
This looks nice though

Organic foods are the best. They may have odd shapes but it makes it much more unique !

Banana and papaya tree .. interesting...these bananas are really good 😊

And very tasty.

Yeah...home grown vegetables and fruits are always best ... nowadays I'm also trying to grow vegetables and some fruit 😄

Home gardening is fun and you are doing nice in this space. I hope that I would be able to do this in next few years.

The Bananas seem to be eaten as vegetables, thanks to food production because it reduces the world's food demand. I like your initiative very much. You are really doing a good job. She took the photos well.

We have a few indoor tomatoes coming up that I can't wait to taste. This summer sun was so harsh that we were happy to be able to still do all of our gardening practices indoor.

Very bountiful harvest, I wish I could grown my food myself just like you.
Nice picture by your mom.

Really those bananas are well grown. I think, It is also healthy and testy as curry. I am glad that the childs liked banana fries. 💕💝

@tipu curate

Wow, I guess your mom has a green thumb, being able to easily grow from seeds thrown everywhere. I do agree that pesticide free food tend to taste better. We are sometimes able to get fruits and vegetables harvested from a farm that doesn't use pesticides, and the flavor and sweetness is more pronounced.

Gardening is a great way to meet your needs

I have never seen a banana like this. It is much bigger than a cavendish.

wow! more than two dozen banana that's extraordinary 👏👏 👏 👏

Home gardening even though it can really be stressful at times but for me I still love it because it is always fun actually

This is very nice. Your ability to always grow new things in your garden amazes me so much. I haven't seen this type of banana before. I guess it is another species different from the ones I know here. Weldon, boss, for sharing your journey with your garden. I hope you enjoy the great taste of enjoyment.

The advantage of growing your own food, besides being healthier, is that it is much more delicious. The difference is noticeable. I am not surprised that your children want to eat fried bananas daily. Dear friend @sanjeevm

it is always great choice to have your own kitchen Garden.. it gives us healthy and tasty vegetables which is far better than those hybrid Market Vegetables..

You are doing great for your family 👍🏻

This picture your mum took is a great one
Also, I’m glad you’re doing this for her and you have confirmed what you want to do about your dad’s treatment
Nice one!

For me, my ideal retirement place would be in the village, and be able to to home gardening and or homesteading in the future. I think it's a healthier lifestyle compared to the one I have now in the city.

Your garden sounds like a wonderful source of fresh and flavorful produce... there's nothing like homegrown fruits and vegetables!

For me, my ideal retirement place would be in the village, and be able to to home gardening and or homesteading in the future.

Same here.

The city is where the money is but the rural/village is where I think I will find peace of mind / serene lifestyle.

You are so right, everything tastes better if chemicals are not used in what you grow. I was reading an article a few days ago about farmers that grow cherries and this year was not a good one for them. Due to so much rain, the cherry trees were developing a fungus that was killing their crop. their answer to this problem was to spray more fungicides on their crops. They did this several times and managed to save some of the crops, but at what expense, our health.

Yes, foods free of pesticides and chemicals are the best for our health, and the feeling of harvesting our own food is something that is priceless.

And not only the flavor when we have the opportunity to get our own food at home, the feeling is unmatched taking that plant from a young age to putting food on the table.

You are right, all the components of a banana are used. Here in Maharashtra, we get only one type of banana. But I have seen many types of bananas in South India when I went to Kerala and Orissa. And here many types of food items are made from bananas. I like bananas very much. I like the banana tree very much because it is wonderful. Very beautiful, thank you.

Stem I have not tried ever, flower yes, but it's a very tedious task to make it prepared. Bananas are very popular in coastal states. I have seen banana trees in every household. My grandmom always emphasizes more on raw, unripe bananas to consume more than ripe bananas for the reason that chemicals are used to preserve ripe bananas.

Nice to see you growing your plants and harvesting them.

It is always great to see that garden are actually preparing to rear things that will produce what is actually needed I must confess

aww I wish I could grow bananas. I tried once and they formed the fruit but the frost showed up before they ripened in time.

May be retry once ?

I would have to get a very late winter.. so I am doubtful I can grow them at all in my climate.

They grow great in their vegetative stages but the fruit never has enough time to ripen it seems.

Maybe if I can find a cultivar that starts to fruit early and finish early in the year.

This one is raw banana, which does not ripen, and we use it as vegetable, so I guess, you can grow that ?

Oh I thought you need them ripe. Yeah it would grow the fruit like yours.

We have got different varieties, the one that ripen is different, and this one is raw, which is more healthier. So you can try the raw one.

Hermosos plátanos nunca los he probado al curry deben ser deliciosos..

A DIY project, gardening AND helping out family!

I never used any pesticides on my garden save a little red wine vinegar on some leaves and never thought much of it. In addition to preparing soil to be rich with compost and augmenting with a little manure, I find watering with rain water (for the edible stuff) makes for a fresh and superior taste.

Especially with the tomatoes and cucumbers. can't compare the taste to store bought anymore!

Nice work my friend.

Yes, its a totally different thing...

When the Tibetans fled to your country their doctors just did not get the point when they were shown artificially grown, large vegetables, for them volume in itself had no value at all!

All they could see was that there was not much nutrition in them, no need for analysis, for them it was obvious...
