Part Four of my book, Sapien Loop: Frozen in Time, has been published on my @captainhive account. This collection post contains all twelve chapters.
Part Four takes us back to the Downs Regions. One of the frozen Linap begins remembering things about his and the lives of the others prior to being frozen. This Linap begins to suspect that the Downs leadership is not being entirely upfront with him and the other frozen Linap. This leads to Orcilla allowing them more freedom, such as permitting them to live with the rest of the Downs residents in local apartments.
Denise, Freddy, Daily, and Louis have an encounter with the underground Linap at one of the locations they were visiting. Louis’ behaviour grows ever more suspicious when he is heard talking to someone and then escapes in one of the flying vehicles.
The underground Linap were able to track the flying vehicle back to Downs. This leads to the eastern tribe of underground Linap visiting Downs. There was some initial tension, but this was quickly resolved when the underground Linap saw how well the frozen Linap, to them their ancestors, were being treated.
Jennifer became aware of a potential cure for the Downs residents. She sent Octavius out to get a unique seaweed to make this cure. She planned to use this cure as a bargaining chip to gain control over Downs.
Tensions between Yassme and Orcilla continue to grow as Lily becomes increasingly more effective at driving a wedge between both Yassme, Orcilla, as well as Yassmay. The tensions are nearing their peak.
Sapien Loop 2 - Part 4: Those Below Meet Those Above and Chapter 43: Remembering
L7 Linap remembers L11 Linap’s name. Vulay rushed to inform Orcilla of this huge breakthrough. L7 Linap had also rediscovered his ability to shapeshift. This led to some frustration as he had not been told he had this ability. Orcilla attempts to soothe the situation by granting the frozen Linap more freedom and their own apartments.
Sapien Loop 2 - Chapter 44: Tempers Flare
Tensions continue to rise between Yassme and Yassmay when Yassmay collects blood from X, who pretends to be afraid of needles. L7 Linap becomes angry when he finds out enforcers have been following him.
Sapien Loop 2 - Chapter 45: Not All Plain Sailing
Octavius is back on his houseboat. He is feeling annoyed about losing control over Jennifer. He has turned his attention to making desserts. Polly visits him with a new proposition.
Sapien Loop 2 - Chapter 46: The Encounters on Our Travels
Denise, Daily, Louis, and Freddy encounter the underground Linap while defrosting a Linap at Location 10. Louis’ behaviour becomes more suspicious, and he abandons his friends to escape the underground Linap. Octavius has gone out to sea to search for the unique seaweed based on the coordinates given to him by Jennifer. On retrieving the seaweed, he has a dangerous encounter.
Sapien Loop 2 - Chapter 47: Feeling Under the Weather
Louis arrives back in Downs. He makes up a fantastic story about his escape and the capture of the others. Eugene is highly suspicious of his explanation. Orcilla calls a meeting to ask the Linap to help them retrieve their captured friends.
Sapien Loop 2 - Chapter 48: Building Relationships
Flint Alset, deputy leader of the west Underground Linap tribe, and Denise begin to bond over sharing information from their stories. Orcilla becomes aware that Lily has been feeding Yassme information that has stoked the divide between them. This leads to a nasty confrontation.
Sapien Loop 2 - Chapter 49: The First and the Last
The underground Linap from the east arrive. Orcilla had correctly anticipated their arrival and had arranged a welcome party for them. On seeing the good treatment of the frozen Linap, the underground Linap became friendly with the Downs residents.
Sapien Loop 2 - Chapter 50: Party Time
Octavius returns to the Lake Region to meet up with Polly and Jennifer. He brings with him some unexpected new friends. Downs holds a party for the underground Linap. Orcilla is feeling better and attends the party. Tensions between Yassme and Orcilla have died down a little as they share some pizzas. Lily manipulates Eugene into agreeing to put up surveillance cameras in Downs.
Sapien Loop 2 - Chapter 51: Now or Never
Yassmay and Orcilla believe they have found a cure for the sick Downs residents. They try the cure out on a small sample of the sickest residents. However, things do not go according to plan. Duffo begins to become concerned about L7 Linap’s growing fondness of the Downs residents. Miro informs Duffo that L6 Linap has been found.
Sapien Loop 2 - Chapter 52: Time to Make a Move
Jennifer has decided that it is time for L6 Linap, who has been identified as Hamish Alset, to join the other Linap in Downs. They bring with them a powerful cure that they plan to use to control the Downs residents.
Sapien Loop 2 - Chapter 53: Real or Fake
Tensions between Yassme and Orcilla rise again when Yassme finds out how devastated Yassmay is over the deaths of the Downs patients. Hamish Alset arrives in Downs. He is greeted with great suspicion, but it appears he is genuine. However, it was difficult to know for sure since the Linap could not remember him.
Sapien Loop 2 - Chapter 54: We Have a Cure
Hamish and Polly share the cure with the Downs residents. It appears to be very effective. The selected Downs residents appear to be recovering very quickly. Hamish and Miro, in exchange for the cure, want to take over Downs. The Downs residents appear accepting of this offer, but Orcilla is not happy with the proposal. Yassmay discovers that Orcilla’s medication is being depleted far quicker than it should be.
My New Book, Sapien Loop
I have published an ebook on Amazon; it is titled ‘Sapien Loop: End of an Era’. The book is fiction. I do not normally write fiction. However, I felt it was appropriate considering what is happening in the world today. Freedom is the most important thing we have, but we are gradually losing it. I have covered this in many of my posts.
In the story, most citizens do not understand the concept of freedom because they have never really experienced it. In essence, the story is about an alien world that might represent our not-so-distant future. There are many other elements to the story that are an abstract and exaggerated version of our reality. I believe this book to be an important read, and I believe it has the potential to change the way you think.
Brief Summary of Sapien Lopp
This story is based on the fictional planet Sapia and its sole country, Sapey. Sapey is portrayed as a form of utopia for all its citizens. No poverty. No war. Almost no crime. Opportunities for all.
This was enough for most citizens, but not all. In one of the small regions, some of the citizens had become discontent. They felt something important was missing in their lives. Their discontent did not go unnoticed. Some of the Sapey elite wanted to weaponise this discontent to gain more power. This created more chaos than they anticipated. This led to further widespread social unrest.
On top of the chaos, ambition and greed provoked another enemy. This enemy was on a mission to settle both new and old scores.
