I got to Split fairly late last night. My hotel provided a car to pick me up from the airport, so that was easy. Split City Rooms is near the old centre that is a maze of alleys. The hotel is unusual as it is mostly underground, but it is nice enough as a place to sleep. The bar for the introductory meeting was a short walk away and I found lots of folk still there.
The venue today was a big tent in front of a sculpture museum with views of the sea. It is lovely, but it was just so hot in the tent and a lot of people sat outside under the trees.
We had lots of presentations including @worldmappin @liotes @waivio @leofinance @skatehive and much more. You can see these on the @hivefest feeds. The advantage of being here is that you talk to these people in person.
I have met a lot of attendees before, but others are at their first event. There was plenty of food and drink with vegan options. The organisers led by @lordbutterfly really look after us.
We had a little time before the buses to the evening meal, so some of us walked down to the beach. It was pretty busy. I dipped my feet in, but was not equipped for swimming.
Dinner was at a place across the peninsula with great views. There are about 100 people here. The food was great with vegetarian and fish options for the non-meat eaters.
We also had musical entertainment from several acts. I did not get all their names. As i am posting from the Ecency mobile app or is tricky to look up everyone. I may do that when I get home. One was Violetta Zironi who gave out guitar picks that you can scan to get an NFT. I had to have one for my pick collection.
I walked back to the hotel after a great day. Tomorrow's venue should be cooler as it is in the cellar of a palace.
Stay tuned...
