Another Tuesday is upon us, which means I will be doing yet another Three Tune Tuesday. What I like about this weekly event is that it gives me a chance to escape the regular weekly posts and talk about music that I have enjoyed over the years. Today's pick as you can guess from the header is going to be punk, but not just any punk, early punk! But I also added a very non punk surprise at the end, but she has a great voice!

The Ramones

To start off I'll add the bonus first, I was watching The Simpsons last night and had completely forgotten that The Ramones had guest starred on the show back in the 1990s. Here they were playing for Mr. Burns birthday party, and it's hilarious!
One of the things I love about watching old performances of these legendary bands are the imperfections. In this one the microphone stand is duct taped, you wouldn't see that today for sure. Imagine Taylor Swift with one, not going to happen! This band is of course legendary, they influenced bands for years, and in fact there are still band that mention them as influences in their music. Sadly, all of the original band members are now deceased, but they left a musical legacy that will not be forgotten!
The Go-Go's

I have always loved The Whisky a Go Go, it's a legendary bar venue that has jump started the careers of so many musical acts. Plus, it's a really fun place to go! The Go-Go's performed there back in 1980, and they are one of the early all female punk bands. In this one Belinda Carlisle has very short blonde hair, a huge departure from her darker hair solo career. They really rocked the house back in the day and were a great band! Plus Belinda was one of my big crushes as an early teen, she was a pretty woman, but better with long hair!
The Clash

OK, maybe not officially The Clash, I've always loved the song "Rudie Cant't Fail". It's very hard to find a good live performance, so I'm going with Joe Strummer& The Mescaleros. Joe is a legendary singer that fronted The Clash and died too young. After The Clash parted ways, on occasion, he would sing their tunes with his band The Mescaleros. Mescalero refers to an Apache Native American tribe that Joe himself admitted to stealing form a western film.
La 5ª Estación
Like I have mentioned a few thousand times, I spent a lot of time in the Spanish speaking world. I speak Spanish and well as I do English and find myself thinking in Spanish as much as I do English to this day. Some things make more sense in one language than it does in another, all you multilingual folks out there will understand.
This one is from a Spanish band that has since parted ways. La 5ª Estación were an amazing band that relocated to Mexico City from Spain to kickstart their career. Front woman Natalia Jimenez is an amazing vocalist, which is why I'm adding this to the tail end. This song came on my play list after Joe Strummer, how that worked I have no idea. But I had to add it. She's a good looking woman and has a very sexy voice!
