Beyond The Looking Glass is the second book in the Unseen series, a story that came to me from the other side. A story where I thought I was just the narrator until I heard the Words of the Unseen.

This second story goes beyond time and place and mixes the long ago with the here and now. Because history keeps repeating, until we learn and do something about it.

Beyond The Looking Glass - Words of the Unseen - Chapter 34

Dear Reader, it just gets too much sometimes. Not sure if you know the feeling, but in my case too much is almost never a good thing.

It upsets my mind & my stomach and sometimes both at the same time.

I know that I probably asked for this life, designed it myself, and then handed it to the unwitting me in the womb.

Not sure if I need to show myself gratitude, or despise my choices. What I do know is that I made sure there is almost never a dull moment

"Look further, Martio," she whispers and with those words, I float backward.

I see Sei slowly disappear, then the tree, then I see the volcano also getting smaller. I see the sea, how immense is it? Until she too is completely visible. From this distance, the world is so small, and the space around us so big and I feel connected to both.

No matter how small we are, we are all pieces of the same puzzle "I get it, the same puzzle," I shout, laughing as I try to comprehend how immense and complex that puzzle is. I just can't do that because it makes me feel sick as hell, I feel a deep black suction engulf me and pull me back.

When I open my eyes I am on my knees and staring into a pile of liquid with finely chewed mushrooms.

"Ah, you're finally back and enjoying a Breakfast of Champions, aren't you," she tries to contain her laughter but I know her voice too well.

I spit, and then again. I get up with a deep sigh. "Oh, and you guys also decided to become one again?"

She looks at me shocked, "you... you know?"

"Well, now it is," I answer while it takes some effort to talk after vomiting.

"But don't worry, I think I'm the real stupid. I saw it, but I didn't register it. Even though I was completely unaware of it."

She looks a bit crestfallen, "I thought you would find out one day. But I didn't expect it to be now. But was she here, I mean in this body? Because I can hear her, see her, and feel, but when she is there it seems as if I am not there."

I have to let the words sink in for a moment, "I don't know if I'm the most reliable witness, but if you ask me, she was here. Although she was kind of vague, transparent perhaps?"

"But tell me, who is she?"

Sei looks away for a moment, but then turns her face back toward me,"Fay, her name is Fay. She's not around often if that's what you think."

I have to laugh a little, "I don't know what I'm thinking yet. But where does she come from, who is she, how is this possible?"

Sei seems to be ashamed because her cheeks turn red. "That night when the soldiers came and I wasn't there, maybe I knew a little bit about what was going to happen. I cried all night, I wanted to be with them even if that meant... That feeling didn't go away, one morning I opened all my doors and shouted "Take me!"

"That same evening, Fay was there. Afterward, I could have hit him many times worse. I think Fay was sent, but she could also have been a demon. What I did was the stupidest thing you could do. But I didn't want to go any further, not alone and not even with Margarida at my side."

"Fay showed me why I'm still here. She took over when I couldn't anymore. I think she knows a lot more than I do about the world we don't see. But she never tells me anything. She always says that that's not what she came for. That I already know way too much, and that more is not always better."

Stunned, I close my eyes and wonder if what I just heard is real or if this is still my brain racing like a mad horse. But since vomiting, I feel myself becoming more and more myself, and it was really Sei who told me this.

It's difficult to be unsure about what is imagination and what is real when even without that concoction such things are not as obvious as they sometimes seem.

When I open my eyes again I still see Sei's embarrassed face. "It's okay honey, did you think I was completely normal?" She nods, "And that's extremely boring," she laughs.
