Splinterlands Art Contest Week 279
Hello to hivefolks!!: It's been a long time since I last created and participated in an art contest on the Hive blog. Since finding a regular job, my time has been consumed, and I've been limited in activities like this. But this past weekend, I opened my Hive account again and remembered what I used to do. I tried holding a pencil and paper again, and suddenly, I felt inspired
For this entry, I chose Djinn Oshannus as the subject. It's truly one of my favorite tanks because of its ability to reduce magic attacks. It has a speed of 5 and deals strong magic damage with 2. I haven't tried a higher level of Oshannus yet since it requires a higher summoner level. Due to that, I am not familiar with its high-level abilities, but for small-time players like me who enjoy it, it's a great unit to use
Creating my artwork here is a relatively simple process, requiring a bit of imagination and efficient organization or grouping of elements. I start by sketching my idea or desired pose freely on a blank piece of paper. It's easy to erase and make changes as needed. Once satisfied with the arrangement or position of my subject, I take a photo and import it into the Autodesk app on my cellphone for the second step
In the 2nd step, which is tracing, I outline my sketch on paper using the Autodesk app to clarify the details. First, I trace the subject's outline to have a guide for coloring. Next is the skin; I color the skin entirely in its base color, then add a 2nd tone, shadow, and highlight to bring my work to life.
The same process applies to other details. I separate them using layers for easier modification and erasing if there are any mistakes. In the final step, I add glows and lights to give my work a more impactful effect.
I hope you appreciate my simple art entry. Long live and thank you.
