Hi Everyone,
The Prologue and Part One of my book, Sapien Loop: Frozen in Time, have been published on my @captainhive account. This collection post contains all fourteen chapters.
The Prologue provides a brief summary of the six years between the end of the previous book and the start of the new book.
Part One focuses on the discovery of the frozen humanoids that were introduced in the epilogue of the previous book. Altogether eleven were discovered, each in different chambers. Each chamber was connected to a network of tunnels that went deep into the ground.
Denise and Eugene begin an expediture to explore the tunnels. This expedition is cut short when the frozen humanoid in the chamber off the tunnels they were exploring goes missing. This prompts Denise and Orcilla to defrost the other ten humanoids to find out more about their world.
Orcilla also decides they need to defrost Lily, who was previously frozen by Pardi. Lily is the only one who has the knowledge to translate ancient documents left behind inside the chambers. These documents reveal why these humanoids believe they needed to be frozen in time.
Sapien Loop 2 - Prologue: Time Moves On
Six years had passed since the end of the previous book. Times were tough in the Downs Region. The residents were plagued with illness, and most were infertile. The population was beginning to crash, and it appeared to be getting worse. Orcilla, Daily, and Yassmay were desperately trying to find a cure. Meanwhile, Denise continued her exploration of the hidden locations.
Sapien Loop 2 - Part 1: There Is Hope and Chapter 1: The Tunnels
Denise and Eugene begin an adventurous expedition of the tunnels at Location 6. The network of tunnels is more complex than they could have imagined.
Sapien Loop 2 - Chapter 2: Worlds Await
Denise, Eugene, and Louis explore deeper into the network of tunnels. It appears there is still life below ground. This discovery startles Denise. She decides they need to return to the surface.
Sapien Loop 2 - Chapter 3: He’s Gone
On returning to the surface, Eugene discovers that the frozen humanoid is gone. This leads to the team searching for him. It soon becomes apparent that an outside party removed the frozen humanoid.
Sapien Loop 2 - Chapter 4: Hamlet’s Head
Back in Downs, Yassme is working on her new amazing invention. This invention enables thoughts to be turned into words. She has designed a version of the invention for Hamlet. In this chapter, Yassme explains how her invention works with the help of some new friends.
Sapien Loop 2 - Chapter 5: We Need Answers
Denise, Eugene, and Louis return to Downs to explain what had happened to Orcilla. They decided they needed to find answers. To do so would involve taking action they would normally avoid. Orcilla also strongly believes the frozen humanoids are an ancient breed of Linap.
Sapien Loop 2 - Chapter 6: Jennifer Is Back
The whereabouts of the frozen humanoid from Location 6 is revealed. Jennifer, Polly, and a hybrid giant named Octavius had taken him. The humanoid is indeed Linap.
Sapien Loop 2 - Chapter 7: Defrosted
Orcilla, Denise, Freddy, and Louis fly around the country to various locations defrosting as many Linap as they can. Orcilla struggles with her health as her reduced intake of medication starts taking a toll on her.
Sapien Loop 2 - Chapter 8: Lily Returns
Vulay and Daily return to the Capital Region. Daily is tasked with defrosting Lily. Vulay and the enforcers are tasked with collecting gold from the Economic Institute. In the Economic Institute, they discover an unexpected resident.
Sapien Loop 2 - Chapter 9: Finding Out More About Our New Friends
In the Downs Region, Yassmay begins to find out more about the frozen Linap.
Sapien Loop 2 - Chapter 10: Hotel Prison
Lily arrives in Downs. She is officially placed under arrest. However, Downs has no prisons or even jails. Therefore, she is held in the region’s hotel. To Vulay’s disgust, Lily manages to get the penthouse suite. Lily helps by translating the documents written in ancient Linap.
Sapien Loop 2 - Chapter 11: Those Cold Cold Brains
Yassmay continues studying the Linap. Yassme visits Lily. Yassme and Lily begin to bond as Lily pays attention to Yassme’s accomplishments. Yassme had become distant from her sister, who had dedicated herself to helping Orcilla find a cure. This had caused a rift between the two of them.
Sapien Loop 2 - Chapter 12: Working Together
There remained three more frozen Linap. Orcilla could no longer make the journey as she had reduced her medication again. She assigned Denise, Daily, and Freddy to defrost the remaining Linap. Meanwhile, Jennifer had resorted to using her technology to extract information from the Linap they had taken.
Sapien Loop 2 - Chapter 13: The Truth Brings Hope and Pain
Jennifer has some success extracting memories from the Linap they had taken. It appears he has a shocking and disturbing past. Yassmay also finds out about the age of X. It appears he had been alive around the time the Linap were frozen. Yassme and Colin play some videos they had discovered in a vault in the Capital Region to the Linap. The videos appear to bring everyone together.
My New Book, Sapien Loop
I have published an ebook on Amazon; it is titled ‘Sapien Loop: End of an Era’. The book is fiction. I do not normally write fiction. However, I felt it was appropriate considering what is happening in the world today. Freedom is the most important thing we have, but we are gradually losing it. I have covered this in many of my posts.
In the story, most citizens do not understand the concept of freedom because they have never really experienced it. In essence, the story is about an alien world that might represent our not-so-distant future. There are many other elements to the story that are an abstract and exaggerated version of our reality. I believe this book to be an important read, and I believe it has the potential to change the way you think.
Brief Summary of Sapien Lopp
This story is based on the fictional planet Sapia and its sole country, Sapey. Sapey is portrayed as a form of utopia for all its citizens. No poverty. No war. Almost no crime. Opportunities for all.
This was enough for most citizens, but not all. In one of the small regions, some of the citizens had become discontent. They felt something important was missing in their lives. Their discontent did not go unnoticed. Some of the Sapey elite wanted to weaponise this discontent to gain more power. This created more chaos than they anticipated. This led to further widespread social unrest.
On top of the chaos, ambition and greed provoked another enemy. This enemy was on a mission to settle both new and old scores.
