Time to chill after car boot selling today. I’ll tell you doing car boot is like running, you meet all sorts of people. There are very friendly chatty people, there are some miserable people, happy smiley people but most of all there are some stingy bastards who haggled from £1 to 50p just imagine that!!
I became very acquainted with a few, especially the two guys who always buy perfumes and I have their numbers (at their insistance). I’m doing it to make some space but it seems I’m not making any dent at all.
@slobberchops does come with me reluctantly just to be the lookout because the first time I went someone stole two bags from my table. The thing is I really enjoy myself doing it, and I didn’t realise that sometimes I make someone smile.
Today an old gentleman told me he comes to the car boot to see my smile whatever the weather. He doesn’t buy from my table but just looks and smiles at me and I smile back. @slobberchops always said that my friendliness is always my downfall. He told me too that he fell in love with me the first time when he met me at the airport in Manila and I smiled at him.
