Ahhh, the all-electric Ford Explorer! Built on VW’s MEB platform, and combined with the heritage of the design language of Ford!
Not only did we get chance to have this on review recently, we also managed to get out and about in it on a road trip. Part 1 saw us head over to Blackpool to visit the Illuminations, so join us here for Part 2 – the journey home!
I’ve talked a lot about the tech and safety in my other posts about the Ford Explorer, so you can trust me when I say that this is a great vehicle for a long haul journey. Cruising to – and from – Blackpool was comfortable and smooth – thanks to the suspension - and on our roads that is definitely saying something. We had plenty room on the inside, and had all the mod cons we could need to keep us charged and ready for the journey home after the light show.
Even though we are now in the Winter season here in the UK, the range held, meaning we were easily able to get to Lytham, and Blackpool and home without any range anxiety at all. Awesome! 😛
As I said in Part One, the Ford Explorer EV felt like the perfect companion in our adventures, and it delivered on all fronts – style, comfort, range and tech.
It’s going to be interesting to see where Ford go next on the road to electrification. Admittedly, they were quite late to the party, but they have more than made up for it. It was honestly worth the wait when it comes to the Explorer.
Have you driven one ? Let us know what your thoughts are!
Thank you all, and enjoy!
Annabelle 😊
