We created some characters to play with partygoers across the water last week.
A whirlwind of a remote winter warmer for us London folk- it was in New York City, (so good they named it twice).at the iconic Chelsea Hotel
Sadly we didn't get a jolly old jolly across the pond but we got to employ some gems.
The fantastic @mcgarrk, whose fashion sense we all envy wildly, produced and directed it from over in London. She was working with the hilarious @austingood1 who managed it all on the ground- (look at his comedy online, proper lolz)
Our work is a real mix of public arts, education, private events, cabaret, spooky weirdo installations in strange places and this one was an installation for a brand
(oh, jingle bells may the baby jeeb bless Christmas parties, twas a timely job.)
The lovely @kennedyldn employed us for the fashion titan @marcjacobs
and it was brilliantly performed by the sparkling fabulousness of @doelp and @_zachmcnally and the iconic, flamboyantness of @amyjojackson- serenading revellers with her dulcet tones.
The Chelsea Hotel is one of those iconic Manhattan places I'd love to see- everyone but everyone seems to have lived there from Chet Baker to Hendrix to Tom Waits, a massive late Victorian gothic hulk- one of the first private apartment co-ops to built that soon became a notorious hotel. Authur Miller, Mark Twain, Arthur C Clarke all reputedly wrote in it or about it, Sid Vicious' Nancy was murdered there, Dylan Thomas got his final illness there, Ginsberg, Kerouac and Boroughs all lurked in its hallowed halls. Google it. A den of iniquity and creativity and notoriety.
I guess now its not quite how Andy Warhol and his pals might have remembered it (have you ever seen the creepy Factory film about it- think I might go and rewatch)

Chelsea Girls MOMO trail
but we're still delighted to have made some performance in it- if only we could have had a little sparkly Xmas dance in it too.
Next time New York xx
Love and such and wishing you play
