Nothing ceases to amaze me when I go exploring. This house was so tucked away you couldn't even see it from the road. My only way in was a tiny window balancing on an old box.. and yes it was one of those oh heck moments when your half way in if I can get in or left dangling.. I got in 😁
My first room was the kitchen.. stuff piled high to the one side.. yet a neat sink area..
Lots of food in the cupboards some years out of date.. even a bottle of Camp.. a sign of what else I was to discover maybe..
The lounge area again was relatively neat.. a lovely wood burner.. lots of personal bits and bobs on the sides.. an old pair of boots put neatly together..
I wandered up the stairs where the were three rooms..one room was full of boxes of paperwork, some of it ransacked by others hunting for gold probably 🙄😁 A lovely world globe sat on a table. I always love to have a look in boxes, I'm nosey, I can't help it 😊 it also helps me piece together the story of the house.. I found some beautiful old black and white photos.. I never understand why photos get forgotten.. and some old slides of holidays..
The was a small landing with a few boxes and an old bike, I'm guessing some other explorers had been before me as photo id's and other things were displayed already for me.. I've blurred the faces, just because...
The other room was my sort of room, wallpaper falling down, an old bed with 2 little dollies lay on it, a lovely fireplace.. so photogenic.. weird over the years I've noticed most beds are made.. or have the bedding left on them..
The last room was completely mad!! i worked out that the one side of the house had holes in the ceilings and that's why the decay was so much worse than anywhere else in the house.. huge cobwebs stretched from every corner.. the ivy had pushed its way through the window.. it was like I was in a different house from downstairs..
As ide mentioned before, explorers and others like to set up scenes to sort of show what they've found in a better light, it also photographs better some say.. I felt like I had entered some sort of seedy backstreet parlour in Amsterdam 😎 il just let the photos do the talking 🙈😂
Looks like who ever lived here had alot of fun 😊.. From what I could work out a man lived here alone for quite some time, dates on things stopped around 7 years ago, it looked like he started to pack things away but just gave up.. It was time to go, I Really do get to see some crazy things and this house definitely had plenty of quirky things left behind.. I shall leave you with this.. it was on the side table in the bedroom..
I guess it takes all sorts to. make the world go round... 😄
