Hello everyone, I hope you are well. For Hive Open Mic Week #215, we explore the theme: "Waves" chosen by our community's recent featured artist: @shemzee. Today I share with you my interpretation with the trumpet of "Beyond the Sea", a Swing Jazz genre song composed by Charles Trenet and Albert Lasry. This piece of music was originally written in French as "La Mer", and is influenced by the chanson française style as well as jazz and American swing. The French version is an ode to the sea, celebrating its beauty and power, while the English It is about love thanks to the lyrics of Jack Lawrence. The song is in the key of D major, with a beautiful melody that has short and repetitive phrases. It has a happy and danceable swing rhythm. I have had the opportunity to listen to versions like it. that of Bobby Darin, clarinetist Benny Goodman, and more recently Robbie Williams.

Hola a todos, espero que se encuentren bien. Para Hive Open Mic Semana #215, exploramos la tematica: "Waves" elegida por el reciente artista destacado de nuestra comunidad: @shemzee. Hoy les comparto mi interpretación con la trompeta de «Beyond the Sea», una canción de género Swing Jazz compuesta por Charles Trenet y Albert Lasry. Esta pieza musical fue originalmente escrita en francés como "La Mer”, y es influenciada por el estilo chanson française como también del jazz y el swing americano. La versión francesa es una oda al mar, celebrando su belleza y poder, mientras que la inglesa es de amor gracias a la letra de Jack Lawrence. La canción se encuentra en la tonalidad de D mayor, con una melodía hermosa que tiene frases cortas y repetitivas. Tiene un ritmo de swing alegre y bailable. He tenido la oportunidad de escuchar versiones como la de Bobby Darin, el clarinetista Benny Goodman, y más recientemente Robbie Williams.
If there is one experience that I love in life, it is going to the beach and enjoying the captivating spectacle of the ocean waves. Just listening to their song leads you to relaxation, meditation and reflection. To me, waves mean an endless cycle of change and transformation. These are born from the wind, rise, roar as they break against the coast and then fade into the sand, to form again and repeat the cycle. I love that wonderful lesson. We can all change. How terrible is the phrase when someone says “I am like this, and no one can change me.” A few years ago I was swimming with some friends and suddenly a wave took us deeper. We took our time and stayed on a reef for several minutes, then decided to swim to shore with all our might. The lesson we learned was that we can remain immanent and let the waves carry us, or fight, change and be better every day.

Si hay una experiencia que amo en la vida es ir a la playa, y disfrutar del espectáculo cautivador de las olas de mar. Solo escuchar su canto, te lleva a la relajación, la meditación y la reflexión. Para mí, las olas significan un ciclo incesante de cambio y transformación. Estas nacen del viento, se elevan, rugen al romper contra la costa y luego se desvanecen en la arena, para volver a formarse y repetir el ciclo. Me encanta esa lección tan maravillosa. Todos podemos cambiar. Qué terrible es la frase cuando alguien dice “Yo soy así, y nadie me puede cambiar”. Hace unos años estaba con unos amigos nadando y de repente una ola nos llevó más adentro. Nos tomamos un tiempo y permanecimos sobre un arrecife por varios minutos, entonces decidimos nadar a la orilla con todas nuestras fuerzas. La lección que aprendimos fue que podemos permanecer inmanentes y dejar que las olas nos lleven, o luchar, cambiar y ser mejores cada día.
