I share with you my trumpet performance of “Tomorrow,” a song composed by Charles Strouse and Martin Charnin for the 1977 musical Annie. The lyrics are narrated by Annie, an 11-year-old orphan who lives in an orphanage run by the cruel Miss Hannigan. Despite the difficulties in her life, Annie remains hopeful that she will find her parents and live a happy life. The song is an anthem of optimism and hope. She sings about her belief that tomorrow will be a better day. She refuses to give up, even when things seem difficult. The version I love is the one from 2014, starring Jamie Foxx and Cameron Diaz.
