This is my post for #memoirmonday 36 prompt Have you ever had recurring dreams? If so, describe them. Hosted by @ericvancewalton
My youngest brother was unloading 3/4 inch plywood from a train, he worked for a lumber company, he was on the ground and another worker was using the forklift. The bands holding the plywood broke and all of the wood came down on him crushing his pelvis. The Doctor told us he would never walk again.
After staying in our local hospital for 9 days, they found his intestines were cut almost into and had been leaking into his system making him septic. He was airlifted to a bigger hospital but it was too late, he passed away after being there for a few days.
After his death, for several months, I kept having the same dream that he was still alive. Every night in my dream I would drive across a bridge to the hospital, I would walk into the hospital, everything in it was stainless steel and my brother would be standing there and he was nude, we never talked and I would wake up. I did not see him nude, I just knew he was nude.
I told my Mom about this dream and she would tell me it was a good dream. It shows that everything being shiny and him standing and being nude says he is with God. I would have never thought it meant that. She said in Heaven there is no need for clothes and everything is clean, I think this dream and her interpretation made her feel better. She had lost both her sons.
If I am having a dream and I do not like the way it is going I can usually change the dream. In the dream, I can tell myself that I am dreaming, but that dream, I could never change it, it was the same every time I had it.
