How would you like to have a manufacturing company on a beautiful farm right next to a mountain?
Peter greets you upon your arrival and he will show you all of the garden and paving stones that they make.
The stone company is set right at the back on the large farm and it is quite an experience to see all of the activities and the life on the farm. There is even a big private school on the farm and we were surprised to see the modern and smart accommodation of the farm laborers. Oh, and of course grape vines all over the place.
I want to lay some of the bigger cement blocks at the back of our garden and this is where I found the blocks.
It is a long road and this guy below in his Ferrari was happy to lead us to our destination.
As we descended over this hill all of a sudden a sight of the factory appeared after all of the grape vines.
And there it was in all of its manufacturing glory. You can see the wet cement slabs that were cast into rubber molds and laid out to dry.
This took me back about 30 years, as I used to work as a factory manager at a large company that manufactured pre-stressed concrete lintels and concrete flooring planks for high rise buildings.
Unfortunately, they did not have the sizes here today that I wanted and I will have to cast my own. So be it.
They say that life is what it is for all of us and that we must just accommodate it and condone it in our different ways. I am thankful that life holds so many surprises and I can never stop to be amazed. Who would expect to see a cement factory amongst beautiful grape vines and albeit set well apart from the fruits in a barren area, one would never match the two.
This is a very big farm and they even have a very prestigious private school on the farm.
So much else to see here, but time was tight and we will most definitely return to show you many more surprise findings. For now, I hope that you have enjoyed the pictures and the story.
And That's All Friends.
