Water, mountains and flowers, a heady mix.

And of course, a lovely surprise shot at the end of the post.

Water is a great medium in photography to add character to one's pictures.

I will firstly show you the water sprinkler action and then some lovely shots in a pond. A pond is merely a small dam, or pool for those that are not English speakers. So yes, I have another variety of photos to show you the latent beauties in our area that are waiting to be discovered.
Enough talk so come and feast your eyes.

I was in luck as a guy came along to work on the sprinkler.

There, he was done and he moved off to open the water.

A lovely sight isn't it?

And of course, a water pond also holds many lovely sights.

This is a leaf of a water plant, baked a red color by the sharp African sun.

A pair of dragonflies sat on a water reed.

The dragonfly's blue matched the blue of the flowers.

Here's a closer look at the dragonfly.

A wasp took an interest in this lovely yellow flower.

Finally, here was the surprise!
An Acraea butterfly flew into the picture of the two Cape dwarf geckos on the column.

And there you have it. I was trying to show you the powerful effect that water and the things that grow in it can add to photos of nature. A majority percentage of our bodies consists of water and therefore we are automatically drawn to photos that have to do with water. The reason is that water represents life and whenever we see it, then it triggers the sub-conscious to respond to it favorably.
If only everyone would recognize the critical importance of water, then we would stop messing it up, as so many are wont to do by littering in our rivers.

I hope that you have enjoyed the pictures and the story.

Beautiful captures… the sprinklers and the man that worked on them. The scenery…
And what a surprise to capture the butterfly too. Stunning Zac 😊👋🏻
Have a wonderful Thursday!

I like the way that you detail your likes, as nowadays I get so many "The pictures are nice" replies lately.
They don't tell me what they find nice about the pictures, but as they made an effort at a reply, I make an effort to say "Thank you".
Thursday is done and Friday awaits. May yours be a great one!

Thank you, happy to hear that. I do make an effort to see and read posts I’m interested in and want to reply specific to them. As I did read them. It does give the author information about what the readers like and don’t like sometimes. It’s helpful… in many ways.

I get those comments too and most of the time I know they didn’t read anything.
I like when people read my posts and comment accordingly. So I know how it’s like.
Let’s keep the effort up and have fun. I like doing what I’m doing and seeing posts from all over the world and truly… connecting with others. We should… it is just wonderful Zac.
It’s so much more fun!

Yes, Friday already started. The week went quickly this week.
Thank you so much, I wish the same for you. That it may be a great one 👋🏻😊

Glad that we are agreed on these issues and yes, one only gets back what one puts in.
Fun and humor always make things better.
I have to admit though that with all of our powercuts here, I can only post and do replies, as there is no time to sit and read peoples posts. We now have 3 cuts per day and between my work and Hive, time gets very difficult. The bad thing is that the power cuts will not get better soon, as some say that it will continue for the next 5 years.
But such is life.

Blessings.

Indeed, exactly like that.

Yes, I understand. That’s truly a shame. 3 times a day is rather a lot and with all your other work.
One day it will go better. But 5 years is indeed such a long time. Wow… let’s hope not.

But indeed, such is life…

I mentioned the power cut situation in the previous reply 😉

This is amazing shots. The flowers are so colorful and the plants in the water. Wow. love the insects though. This is really Amazing Zac 😉😊😍

Thank you and yes, water is a great boon to photos of nature. I was trying to show a combined effect of the essentiality of water in nature and even in our lives and I chose beauty as the conveyor of the message.

Stay well!

Those are beautiful places :) ... I hope the geckos won't eat the butterfly!

Thank you and no the geckos don't eat butterflies. They eat mosquitos and ants!

Thanks also for the curation my friend.

Those mountains ... stunning!

Gorgeous wild life, too, I love the delicacy of the dragon flies and that yellow Iris is just perfect.

Thank you and I am glad that you appreciated the finer parts of the post.

Those Cape mountains are such a stunning sight, makes me long for a trip to our Drakensberg!
It is just awful to see how humankind is polluting the rivers and the oceans & the devastation it causes.
But...your photos are just lovely!
Hope you and your Marion are both keeping well Zac🤗

Sorry for the late reply Lady Lizzie, but we have 3 power cuts here per day and it's a nightmare to work around them.
We are really blessed with the mountain sights, but they are so different from the Berg, as there are no lodges, or timeshare places along the mountain range. Many private farms own the land on both sides of the range.

Yes, devastating is the right word and just yesterday a German tourist walked up to Marian on the beach and thanked her for picking up the plastic waste. He offered her some money, but of course she didn't take it. She just told him that it was everyone's responsibility not to litter.

Glad that you liked the photos and we are cruising along in this life my friend.
I hope that you guys will have a great weekend.

Wow! I really love that sight you shared. Are you guys facing at this view every single day? What a lovely sight! I think the plant where the gecko ang butterfly are is passion fruit vine , right? There's something more to be said about water, its healing, and it's even have consciousness itself.
ok...followed 😊

Thank you and yes we have many of those views every day.
The gecko and the butterfly was visiting our Granadilla fence.
Yes, water can talk and it can even sing, as it is alive 😉
