And of course, a lovely surprise shot at the end of the post.
Water is a great medium in photography to add character to one's pictures.
I will firstly show you the water sprinkler action and then some lovely shots in a pond. A pond is merely a small dam, or pool for those that are not English speakers. So yes, I have another variety of photos to show you the latent beauties in our area that are waiting to be discovered.
Enough talk so come and feast your eyes.
I was in luck as a guy came along to work on the sprinkler.
There, he was done and he moved off to open the water.
A lovely sight isn't it?
And of course, a water pond also holds many lovely sights.
This is a leaf of a water plant, baked a red color by the sharp African sun.
A pair of dragonflies sat on a water reed.
The dragonfly's blue matched the blue of the flowers.
Here's a closer look at the dragonfly.
A wasp took an interest in this lovely yellow flower.
Finally, here was the surprise!
An Acraea butterfly flew into the picture of the two Cape dwarf geckos on the column.
And there you have it. I was trying to show you the powerful effect that water and the things that grow in it can add to photos of nature. A majority percentage of our bodies consists of water and therefore we are automatically drawn to photos that have to do with water. The reason is that water represents life and whenever we see it, then it triggers the sub-conscious to respond to it favorably.
If only everyone would recognize the critical importance of water, then we would stop messing it up, as so many are wont to do by littering in our rivers.
I hope that you have enjoyed the pictures and the story.
And That's All Friends!
