Some special moments from the special day.
The last five days of Kartika Purnima are special and known as Panchuka, during which our ladies group perform Sankirtana before Sun rise. This year, it was observed for four days only and on the final day of Kartika Purnima, I captured some golden moments from their Sankirtana. They all went to sail miniature boats for Boita Bandana to a nearest place and by the time they came back, I was ready with the setup to capture their action from several corners. Their collective performance of direct expression of emotive states for the lord symbolizes the significance of Bhakti Yoga, the spiritual practice within Hinduism focused on loving devotion for the Lord. It's one of the three paths in Hinduism leading to Moksha, the freedom from sufferings (the cycle of death and rebirth).
Like every year, a special prasad was prepared by our temple priest and offered to the Lord first. Afterwards, it was distributed to all the devotees. The preparation needs some collaboration and by god's grace, some people jump in to offer all kind of help that is needed to make it happen - we firmly believe, everything happens as per the Lord's wish.
Here is a video compilation of the morning session - some pure gold memories to be cherished later.
After a blissful morning, the evening was planned well to make the day a grand success. A Bhajan Sandhya (musical program of devotional songs expressing love for the Divine) was arranged along with a delicious vegan lunch, in which most of the residents joined. These are the times when we get an opportunity to truly socialize with each other. The ladies thoroughly enjoyed the soothing session of positive vibes, dancing to the tunes of music. And the gentlemen stepped in and took charge of the food department, ensuring a comfortable serving for all. The delicious food was prepared on our premise and served hot.
Here is the video compilation of the evening session - you can feel how our ladies showcased their unconditional divine love by dancing to the tunes of musical path of Bhakti marg. The tripod was very helpful for capturing the videos, as it's difficult to hold the camera and shoot stable videos.
The crew behind the evening musical program - kudos to them for making it so special.
