The Goddess of creativity, knowledge and divine wisdom.
Today is Saraswati Puja or Vasant Panchami and we celebrated it together at our society. She is an embodiment of divine wisdom, be it education or knowledge, speech, poetry, arts, music and culture. So this is a very important celebration for kids - seeking her blessings, to excel in academics and other creative areas. Kids keep books, copies and pen beside her to have the blessings carried with them for a long time, which needs to be renewed every year - this is how we pass the value of our tradition to next generation.
The coconut being touched on everyone's head, before being offered in the Yajna.
It needs lot of preparation beforehand and kudos to organizers and our Green ladies to make all the arrangements.
And this is a very auspicious day to introduce education or learning to kids - known as Khadi-Chuan, involving an initiation with writing some characters - a very old tradition that is still practiced and being passed to next generations.
Breaking coconut is another rich tradition, for which there was a long queue.
And then Puspanjali (offering of flowers - pushpam (flower) and anjali(offering with folded hands)) to the Goddess, seeking her blessings.
To conclude the ceremony, the ladies wait for the priest to throw the sacred rice on everyone, which they collect and keep at home.
Panchamrut or Panchamrita, mixture of five ingredients used in the worship, and distributed to everyone.
Our ladies did a great job of distributing the prasad to everyone - they make sure, it's arranged in enough quantity. In all our rituals, ladies play the most important role of taking care of everything and this showcases true women empowerment.
We have the responsibility to pass these rich culture to our next generation and the best way to do that is by involving them to be present and take part and learn, so that they can take it forward. The divine touch is very much necessary in life and understanding the significance of these festivals strengthens their belief to lead a successful life.
And there could not be a better day for a photo shoot in our Vrindavan Garden ( Yes, we now have a name of our garden, and it seemed, the Goddess blessed us and offered instant creativity). With some amazingly beautiful models, let me present you some very beautiful captures of the day.
