A strong wind at the beach and come to see some bird fishing action.

What a strike and the question is, did he get the fish?

Well to see if the Egret got the fish, you will see a bit lower down in the post, as first I also want to show you a kingfisher in action.
We spent an hour at the beach and I have taken enough photos for two posts, so here is the first post and I hope that you will enjoy it.
Come and look.

See how deserted it is? No people, as with all of the sharp rocks in the water no swimming is allowed. Our favorite place.

First we will have a look at a Pied Kingfisher in action.

He hovers high up in the sky to look for fish and here he was in the dive.

Bang! Too fast for me to get the strike, but he got his fish.

Right, now we have the dancing Egret.

This guy jumps up out of the water in his fishing efforts.

Gotcha! Oh yes all of that jumping around is not for fun, but rather to fill his stomach.

A master fisherman this and he hunts here all day long.

So this is my relaxing post for you on this Easter weekend and we hope that all of you are having a good and peaceful time.
Our hearts go out to all of those that suffer from the severe storm damages in the KZN province, as the death count has now risen to 395 people and still counting.
We are so glad that our friends in the province that are here on hive have been saved. I think here of my long time friends like @lizelle and @joanstewart and the others. We are with you guys in spirit.

Life is fleeting and we live in gratitude every day.

Thanks for the kind thoughts, immense devastation everywhere this will take months if not years to repair. Loss of life has been exceptionally high, sobering since it has happened throughout the region.

Photography of birds takes ones mind off of events here for a short break, trying to settle on sudden change in weather. 18C today and light rain on and off, yesterday high wind went through again, hope it stays the way it is being water logged we actually cannot cope with much more rain right now.

Sad indeed and also historical as they are saying that this is worst devastation in the county's history.
It will certainly take many years to repair, if at all. I bet that the tender sharks are waiting in anticipation of instant riches.

Yes, anything to take one's mind off the latest dire straits. The bad news is that they forecast more rain for you guys. We will just continue to pray.

If they could not organize a fart in a paper packet before floods, how are they going to do it now?

Too many "chiefs and not enough indians" is the saying I believe, all the word slinging matches about colonialism continuously...., yet who steps forward when times are hard Indians, Whites and elderly African men and women. None of these nincompoops in government, or kings nor traditional leaders, hiding in the long grass me thinks.

The time is now for the leaders to step up and to show their care for the people.
But the government has promised a big amount of money and so everyone thinks that it is great and they don't need to do anything. As if the money is going to fix things by itself.
In the meantime you are correct, as it is the people tat will have to fix things by themselves.

People will have to repair and help each other, same happened during the strike action last year, never rely on government!

When councilors are telling wards that water/electricity will be for certain areas "ANC", before worrying about the rest, they should not be in office!

When individuals are creating treason stealing copper cable at a time like this from sub-stations penalty should be shoot on sight.

When people at the top no longer care why should they?

No we are on our own, help each other as best as possible within each small town, our pensioners in old age homes are sitting without water for 5 days, hospitals have closed with no water available, how far will this rot go?

Yes you are right and it is up to us, the people to catch a wake up and to see what our votes have gotten us into.

As long as we deal with countries that have a copper and metals need, the syndicates will continue to use the poor to steal for them. I simply cannot understand why they are not regulating and manage exports, as hundreds of containers containing stolen stuff must be leaving this country.
But a blind eye is being turned and one wonders why.

Plenty leaves our shores under cloak and dagger, as does illegal entry in many guises, good money to be made taking a chance!

Sun is shining, cleaning up around the home will take weeks for soil to dry, time will tell if this time things will be done correctly.

Same as the poaching, the poor take the risks and receive pittances while he middle men and the syndicates make the big bucks. Anything is for sale.

I do not know if this is an option with your camera, but if you take a series of photos with your camera in cases like this, then you can capture the moment, and choose the best photo(s). I know that this function is available even on some of the smartphones. Or probably you can even create a video with your camera, and you can take the "screenshot(s)" out of it. These could be possible solutions for very fast situations, like this.

Thank you for the advice and yes I have the "Sports" setting that can take multi shots. But the light was bad and there was even a blur on the still shots.
Maybe I will get the tern on video one day, as they are very fast and erratic flyers.
