We are sitting at 34C now at midday and yes it is very hot.
Heat without water is like a party with no music :)
Oh yes, South Africa is now in the summer season and we could only nip out early this morning, even though it was already hot, to escape the peak temperatures later on.
I could have placed this post in #fascinatinginsects or in #amazingnature, but because the bird photos outnumber the other photos, I have decided to place the post directly into #featheredfriends.
Hope that you will like it.
The first two photos are of a Red veined Dragonfly (Trithemis arteriosa) and in the second photo you can see how the sun turns its body into a pinkish color.
Right here we go with our resident wild Cape Robin-chats (Cossypha caffra) in the bird bath.
Robbie and his wife surely enjoyed the water and the sun is so sharp that we have to refill the bird bath 3 times a day.
I cannot put a canopy, or umbrella over the bath, as they will not see the arrival of any predators or raptors.
Finally we had this little squirrel lamely lying on her full stomach in the heat.
But not so lame as not to watch a chancer grabbing one of her nuts on the window sill. She already ate many nuts, but she felt that all of the nuts were hers.
And yes, I told this story in a conversational tone in order to afford you, the reader a chance to tell me what you are doing to escape the heat.
Then the post will also serve as a mind and heart warmer for our friends up north that are now sitting in the snow. Just remember that your summer will also once again make it's return.
A happy Saturday to all and that's all friends.
