Coming back from the ashes

Is it "to be more constant online" my new years resolution?

I have to be honest, I got a little burn out with everything that involves being in front of a screen.
This month I spent some time without posting on instagram (it went to compulsory posting daily to 0 posting... I know this is not how it should be..), and with HIVE I have plenty of ideas but never the purpose create them. Because of this, I thing it would be a great idea to lower my goals but to be more constant.

Mazin and I moved to Barcelona about a month ago, since we are here we've been figuring out what is our purpose to being here and what we made some planning about what are we going to be working on these coming months.
Mazin did a great post giving some hints about the new space we are creating. You can read about it here.

During this time I didn't spend much time creating, well honestly I haven't painted (apart from walls) one single day -.- Which makes me quite sad.. I used my time to meet family and friends, make up the space I mentioned above, and to find my balance again.

But today was different, this is why I came here again.
I found myself taking some photos of the activity I was doing today, as most of the times, I realised I was taking photos to post on Hive and THIS TIME I didn't want to leave them in standby in my camera roll.

Today I did one of my favorite activities, which is painting with my nieces.

The bigger one asked me if I could paint a t-shirt for her and I told her I could teach and help her to do it herself. Today has been our second day meeting and we almost finished it!

The first day I was helping them more, guiding them through the first steps and the painting process, what to take into account and helping them to do the colour mixes.

But today, they were so focus that I could even do a painting myself.
It's been some time that I want to paint my "Quechua" bag pack from decathlon that looks like everyone's backpack in Spain (there was a time, when you would see someone traveling in Europe with something from Quechua, they were mostly Spanish or Italian XD).
The other day we went shopping some freak stuff for the girls (and for us) and we got distracted in front of a stunning poster of Grogu, or popular called "Baby Yoda". I decided that was going to be my painting.

I have to say that I AM NOT GOING TO POST THE FINAL RESULT IN THIS POST, once is done, I am going to sew it on my bag pack and then I will show it :)

I would like to add that I had SO SO SO MUCH FUN painting today, I didn't even care about the final result. I was painting for fun, the canvas is shitty quality, the paints are the cheapest paint you can find, plus in the end is going to be on my bag pack, which means that this painting is not going to be like my other paintings that are made to be durable and monetized. = FUN :D

I hope you enjoyed this post and hopefully I will be posting AT LEAST once a week, even though I would like to make it 3 times a week at some point :P

Cheers!!

Thanks for the support!

You're welcome!

Good to hear you are painting again. I look forward to seeing your backpack when it is finished. I would love to know they technique your nieces used for painting their t shirts, it looks really great and my eldest would be really interested in trying it out. xxxx

Yey! Thank you so much!
I will try to explain it as best as I can.
I would advice to use cotton as a surface, is the easiest one to paint on. Then you put it on a flat surface, like a flat piece of wood, and stick the t-shirt on it.

For the drawing, I advice you to draw the motive on a paper or to print the image you want to transfer and then use a "transfer paper" to transfer it to the surface.

There's also a way without the transfer paper. You take a copy of the drawing or a print and on the other side of the paper you paint all the surface with a soft pencil (3B is enough but the softer the better) then, you mark the silhouette of the figure on top of the surface you wanna paint on. Be aware to place it straight were you want it.
For the colour, we used low quality acrylic paints to paint over the transferred lines.
I think this post explains quite nice, you can see what I mean on his 4th photo.

In the end you should iron it upside down.

Please let me know if there's something that I didn't explain good enough or if you have any questions.
If you create something, let me know! I would love to see the result.
I tag @thisismylife because maybe she also wants to do it with her daughter :)

Hey! I think that sometimes rest is necessary and it help us to wake the creative. Your paints are awesome, I love it. I hope you can find time for published more often ☺️

I agree, some rest to power up and now is time to work on finding a better schedule to keep going 💪
